Panasonic plasma remote sensor not sensing

I have a 4+ year old Panasonic Plasma TV and the original (and other universal remotes that previously worked) no longer work on the TV. This is mostly a problem of controlling the audio volume, since I can use the cable box for most of whatever else needs to be adjusted. I chatted online with a Panasonic "expert" who told me it must be the remote sensor and that I need to have a tech come out and replace it. Before I do that for a 4+ year old set, I'd like to consider my options. I'm assuming that such a repair would set me back a couple hundred bucks, though I haven't got an estimate yet. (1) is this a repair I should consider trying to do myself? (2) would I just be better off finding an inexpensive remote-control audio system somewhere and just bypassing the TV sound altogether?

Where is the power button on Panasonic 50" plasma

The "power button", which may be identified merely with a symbol usually is located at the top of the universal remote although some place the power button near the bottom.

I am Looking for the remote for the Panasonic Plasma TH-42PX75X OR CAN ANY BODY HELP ME WITH THE MODEL NUMBER FOR THE REMOTE SO THAT I CAN SEARCH FOR IT. MANY THANKS....

It will be best to buy one original remote control from the authorised service center for Panasonic at your town. Universal remote codes for Panasonic are: 0171 0148 0054 0170 0062 0374 0381 0437 0950 0003 0070 If you wish to buy one universal remote control, buy one, which have the above setup codes [even two among them]. All details about to setup the remote with TV will have with accompanied manual of the remote. You will get the code list too.

Im trying to use my panasonic tv remote to run a magnavox converter box.Is there a code to try or will it not run it?

Older panasonic remotes had universal capabilities, if this is for a newer plasma or lcd tv, most likely it is not universal or programmable.

Panasonic TH50PX500U plasma stuck on one channel and the TV is not responding to the control buttons on the tv or remote control. I can't even pull up the menu screen. Anyone know what the problem could...

I have a 5 years old TH-50PX500U Panasonic Plasma TV that has almost similar problem as yours. At times, the response on both TV buttons and remote control is very slow or no response at all. I am pretty sure that this is a defect in the TV control circuit. I am still searching for answer to this problem.

Panasonic 42 inch HD Plasma TV (2 years old) remote sensor

take your tv and remote to a technician to check on your emitting diode and a photo senser, both are working but not very sensitive. the components are not gone but about to go. if you remove a senser from tv it can not receive, so that senser is sensing some thing, also check an amplifier just after a senser plse do that.

The manual is available here and my advice on the remote is to buy a universal like the All in One line of remotes for next to nothing. I am not familiar with AU but most electronic stores including grecery stores carry a universal that will work with this TV. Otherwise contact Panasonic and see who manufactures the remote and call them.

Panasonic TV 50 inch plasma

Dear RyanVa21;
Try changing the picture size with your set's remote, press the aspect ratio button. The remote must be the original Panasonic remote.
Please let me know if that did it.

Thanks!
Richard
