<PLEASE READ THE MICROWAVE SAFETY ADVICE BEFORE OPENING YOUR MICROWAVE - IT CAN KILL YOU!>

My symptoms were not exactly the same as yours. Mine worked intermittently (it would stop and start when heating and a tap on the control panel would occasionally help get it started again).

Here's some information which may be of use. If you read elsewhere on here you'll find that slamming the door can cause problems with the door lock switches moving slightly. So you can have a look to see whether these are being moved correctly when the door is opened and closed.

You'll also hear that if the control board is bad then you'll need to scrap the microwave. Actually this isn't always the case. On this model there are three relays on the printed cicruit board. I'm no electronics buff and not really up to diagnosing such things, but I can tell the difference between a nice shiny looking relay and one that has charring all over the contacts and a slightly melted looking casing. The relays are easy to spot as they have clear cases and you can see the copper coils inside.

I managed to look up the relay from the code on it's side and order a new one (about £3 or $5). With the PCB removed, I was able to swap the relay pretty quickly. I also found that a big grey box on the PCB (lablled Myrra and what I believe to be either a transformer or an inductor) had two dry solder joints and it was physically loose on the board. I suspect a result of some shoddy manufacture and the door slamming again. Ran a bit of solder on to those joints also.

It lives!

Your control board is bad and needs to be replaced. A control board for a microwave costs more money then a new microwave though. If there is no response to you pressing any buttons on the display then the problem is the control board. Let me know if you have any other questions and let me know if this was helpful. Good luck and I am glad that I could help.

Will not turn on . Appears as though there's no power.

I'd try to unplug for a while. Could be a bad power cord for the microwave itself. I recently had a toaster problem. Bad wire right at the departure from the plug.

What fuse did you change? The fuse on the wiring that leads to the microwave needs to be intact, then the fuse in the Microwave itself needs to be checked. Usually there is a plug where the microwave is plugged in, in the cabinet above the microwave, you can take another small appliance or a power tester to make sure power is available in the outlet where the microwave is plugged in. If the power is on at the outlet then you'll know that it is the microwave itself that has turned itself off for some reason. You can get manuals for these ovens at this website

We had a power outage and the display is blinking and there is no response to pressing any button

First, try unplugging the microwave for 2 to 5 minutes and then plugging it back in. Sometimes, a very brief power outage will be sensed by the control as an internal error and the control will lock itself out.

If it continues to blink and does not respond to key presses after this "hard reset", it is likely a portion of the control board could have been damaged from the power outage.

FYI ... the touch panel for this model is no longer available. I mention that because no response from any key press can also denote a shorted key pad.

there is no easy fix to this units current problem it will need to be looked at by a service tech as the fault is an internal circuit shortout and needs to have the faulty circuit found and then replaced using expensive testing units

Most likely the touch panel is bad. You can try ordering a new one from repairclinic.com by searching with your model number. If you find that replacing it doesn't help, return the panel within 30 days and you are only out the shipping costs. With what you describe, it should be the panel itself. Let me know what you find out.

Ours just started doing this exact same thing this past Friday - 12/11/09. What's going on? The cook power just starts beeping all by itself and going from 10 down to 1 over and over again. It may stop momentarily, but then starts again within a minute or so - it's constant until we unplug it. We plug it back in and within a few minutes it starts doing it again. What gives?

Is it possible that some spray cleaner accidentally got into the controls?

Direct spraying of cleaners on the keypad and steam from the cooktop can damage the controls.

I always recommend that users spray the cleaner on a soft cloth (not on the keypad itself) then wipe the control panel off.

Also, I always recommend non-ammonia cleaners since ammonia can crack and damage plastic.
