Hi, own a Sony Vaio VGN P530H with hardisk Toshiba MK6028GAL damaged. as forced to replace unit, wonder could install a higher capacity? Brand & model if available please!!! thanks to all of you!!!

The VAIO VGN-T350 is a notebook computer designed and distributed by Sony.
The hard drive on your Sony VAIO VGN-T350, which is the unit that stores data, consists of many clusters of data that can be rewritten with new data.
If you are looking for a memory capacity upgrade, or if your old hard drive is having errors, it's time for an upgrade.
Upgrading the hard drive on your Sony VAIO will require the use of a screwdriver and will take you about 30 minutes to complete.

Turn off your Sony VAIO VGN-T350 and remove the power cord and any other peripheral components.
Turn over your Sony VAIO VGN-T350 and locate the hard drive chamber on the bottom of your laptop. It will be clearly labeled.

Use the screwdriver to remove the screw holding the lid in place.
Gently lift the hard drive and its cage away from your laptop and disconnect the data cord.
Remove the four screws located at the corners, and then remove your old hard drive from its cage.
Place your new internal laptop hard drive into the cage and replace the screws.
Connect the data cord to your new hard drive and place your new hard drive into its chamber.
Close the lid and replace the screw to complete the operation.

This might not be your specific laptop it might give you an insight into the hard drive installation.

Ebay this hard drive should fit there are smaller capacity drives that will be compatible.

Replace power jack on sony vaio vgn-nw240f

Hello, this is a very simple task on this laptop. The hardest part is removing all of the screws and remembering where they all go. No removal of keyboard or mouse pad required, just the screws connecting the base cover, hd, CD drive (and under this drive once it has been removed), and under the battery...The base cover has good molded clips that hold the base on pretty securely even after removing all securing screws so try to get an area loose and starting there slowly work your way around the edges making sure you don't force an area where you may have missed a screw. Once you have the base cover removed it's fairly easy to see where the dc adapter is located, where the screws that secure it are located, and where the connector to the motherboard is located. You can buy a new dc adapter on eBay for around $12 and a quick Google search will find you a teardown tutorial/video if my description wasn't enough. I've replaced mine twice thanks to the ac adapter cord breaking the dc adapter on the inside when my 5 year old knocked it off the couch causing it to land directly on it. Don't forget to remove all power and ground yourself while working on the internal parts of computers! Have great day!

I want to know how to replace my hdd on my sony vaio laptop model number "vgn-cs215j"

Turn the computer off.
Turn it upside down.
Remove the battery.
Look at the various "access-door" covers.
Open one door, using a small screwdriver to release the screws.
Try to *NOT* "lose" those screws!
You may find access the computer's stick(s) of RAM, or to the wireless-adapter.
Hopefully, you will find the "cage" that surrounds the disk-drive. If you do, undo some more screws, to release the cage. Remove the cage.
Unscrew the HDD from the cage.
Take the HDD to a computer store,
and get them to "match" the "data" and "power" connectors, to sell you a "compatible" HDD.

Screw everything back together.]

Reinstall Windows (I presume that you have the set of CD-ROMs supplied by the manufacturer).

This was a real pain because Sony doesn't and won't release a hardware maintenance manual. You have to take all the screws off that you see on the bottom with the little arrow next to them. Slide out the optical drive and remove the 3 screws hiding behind it. Remove the battery and take out the 3 screws behind it. Now look at the bottom of they keyboard below the row of keys with the space bar in it. There are 4 tabs that have to be pushed toward the touchpad to release the keyboard. It should swivel up now. Be careful as there is a ribbon cable behind it. Gently slide the dark brown bar away or to the right from the beige connector in the keyboard. That will release the ribbon cable. You can now see the last screw holding the top cover in place. Unscrew that screw and then you can remove the top cover. Gently pop up the edges of the top cover and work your way around. You will have to swivel the screen as far back as it goes to pop up the cover. You can just lift and move the top cover toward the screen now and reveal the hard drive. The touchpad has a smaller ribbon cable so you can choose to disconnect it if you want, but you don't have to. There are two long screws near the SATA connector that you have to remove. After taking them out, you can gently slide the drive out to the loft, caddie and all. I suggest labeling all the screws as you take them out or taping them in similar positions on a piece of paper so you can put them back in.

Replacing Hard Drive in a Sony VAIO SZ330P/B

Turn your Vaio upside down and look for an easy access panel or release lever to remove the hard drive carriage. You will probably need a small Philip's screw driver to remove the carriage, but I don't think you need to remove the keyboard.
