Question about Kitchen Ranges

6 Answers

I recently purchase a Electric range model #CFEF320GSA, serial #VF82634788, it is only 6 months old. On one of the burners I have a black mark on one of the rings about 6" long. I also have a black mark about 1 mm in width and 4 cm long at the edge of the circle of the burner. Same burner other side I have another black mark 1 mm in width and 1 cm long at the edge of the burner. I reported this to customer service and had a service person come out to look at this. He mentioned he has not see anything like this for it is in the glass. He was sure this would of been covered under warrantly for he believed it was a defect in the glass. His report was sent in with some pictures and his answer was "not covered under warranty". When I phone customer service to find out why, they told me I did not clean my pot and used it again to cook with. Whatever was still on the pot baked into the glass. Believe me I WASH my dishes. I was not impressed with customer service. The ring mark is know spreading outward to the edge of the burner. I owned a Kenmore for 4 years and never had a issue with it. We recently sold our house and bought the Frigidaire products. I feel like I should of kepted my Kenmore products. Could you please look into this issue and let me know what to do. Thanks Carol Cole carolcole@rogers.com

Contact Sears again and tell them that the defect has not been caused by a pot, make present that you have the technician's report.

If they refuse to validate warranty ask to get in touch with a manager, sometimes you have to insist to validate warranty when there is a dispute.
At the end the company usually cover expenses.

Contact them both by email and phone, so to have more chances.

I would see if you could take the oven back and exchange it for a different brand. If they won't exchange it, I would write a letter to both companies asking for resolution to this situation. If they won't you could perhaps sell the range and purchase a different brand.

I hope this helps,

Eric

Best Bet Would Be To Bring The Whole Thing Back To Where You Got It And Make A Big Deal In Hope That They Will Replace It. I Would Also Call Frigidaire Again And Ask For A Manager Explain To The Manager What The Service Tech Said To You. If They Continue To Be Unhelpful I Would File A Complaint With The Better Business Bureau. This May Convince Frigidaire To Replace Your Product.

I would contact the service person who came out to see what advice he could offer. Tell him the lines or rings or marks are spreading.

Burner won't ignite. Spark is there gas we can smell, but it doesn't light the burner? This is a six month old Gallary Frigidaire range.

An electric range with gas? The heading must be the wrong model...

Assuming gas, this can be caused by either holes in the burner that jet gas out thru a channel to the sparker being plugged by spill overs or a mis-alignment of the tube like channels.

INTERMITTENT BURNER ELEMENT

Take out the element and look at the connecting ends see if there are char or burn marks where they make the connection. One thing you might try doing is cleaning the connections, if that does'nt work you will probably need to replace the element.

Hope this helps ya

2. as far as "saddle grill" calling the manufacture (number inside your manual) will be best source of info on that, of course unless you can find an aftermarket 3rd party maker
