SOURCE: Defrost timer

http://www.us1internet.com/FRS24XGCW2_141846.htm

The above URL will take you to an exploded view of the controls. Look at number 23 which will be located behind toe plate below door on the left side. That is the defrost timer. Rotate the clutch head screw Clockwise SLOWLY until you hear a loud click. That is the defrost timer starting the defrost. If the unit restarts after 18-22 minutes and defrost does not take place you problem is most likely the defrost thermostat.

SOURCE: where is defrost timer located on frigidaire

I couldn't pull up a line drawing for this model, but I recall that on these, (and other fridges of this age and era) had the defrost timer mounted under the front edge of the fridge, just behing the toe kick panel.

Some manufacturers mounted them at the rear behind the thin paperboard "cover", but I'd look for it at the front first.

In either location, it should be mounted behind a metal plate with a small hole in it that has a plastic or metal adjustment shaft that a flat bladed screwdriver slips into to manually advance the cycles.

Just remember to unplug the fridge before you disconnect the timer or attempt to replace it. Once you're done, you can advance the timer to initiate the defrost or cooling cycle, to gets things going.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

SOURCE: Frigidaire Gallery Model FRS26ZSHB3 The

Hi,
There are two things that could be happning....

1. The control is bad and when you manually turn it it will close and start the unit, but it will not close after it opens to stop the unit on it's own....
In other words... you touching it and moving it will get it to work, but it will not turn the unit on if there is no outside influence on it....

The possibility is that the compressor will not restart when warm...but once it cools down it will restart....
I don't think this is what is happening though... my bet is with the thermostat/control...

That is not that hard to fix and you can easily buy the parts yourself online...

Here is a tip that will help you with the online buying...

Sounds like clutch one or more of your defrost components have failed. Defrost heater, defrost thermostat, and defrost timer or board depending on model are the 3 components

How do you put your refrigerator on defrost mode

Hey friend, thank you for the post!

From my understanding you are trying to set your Frigidaire refrigerator into defrost mode. In order to be able to provide you accurate information on how to do so could you provide me with your model number please? You can locate your serial tag (which lists your model number) on the inside cabinet of the fresh food compartment normally on the left side in a top mount. But on a side by side and a French door refrigerator it can be found on the right hand side. I look forward to hearing back from you. -Matt

Frigidaire refrigerator leaking

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that there is a frost build-up on the back wall of the freezer portion of your Frigidaire refrigerator. I also see that there is water leaking onto your floor from the front of your appliance. What you are describing is a possible frozen evaporator, and the freezer needs airflow to work properly. You need to completely defrost the freezer. If your appliance starts behaving normally after defrosting then you need to monitor it closely, as it will sometimes start frosting up again. If it does fail again then it's possible you have a defrost problem. Possibly the defrost heater, but can also possibly be the defrost timer or defrost sensor. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. If further troubleshooting is needed, please leave me your model number. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Hi Friend, this is Z. I am happy to assist you!

I show that the defrost timer for the above-listed model number of your Frigidaire refrigerator has a defrost control board (ADC - Automatic Defrost Control). This can be found in front of the damper. I hope this information proves useful.

Location of defrost timer on frigidaire model lfus2613f3

Hello Friend, thank you for allowing me to assist you!

It appears that the defrost timer of your Frigidaire refrigerator (LFUS2613F3) uses the main control board to energize defrost. The defrost timer is located at the front of the control console in the fresh food compartment (display that controls all functions). I do hope this information proves to be helpful! - Z

Where is the defrost relay button?

Frigidaire equips most of its refrigerator models with automatic defrosting capabilities. This means that owners don't have to set a calendar reminder to manually defrost. The internal automatic defrost control and timing mechanism is placed at the bottom of most Frigidaire refrigerators, next to the stationary panicon1.png that captures water - even the defrosted meltwater is automatically evaporated. You might be confused about how the defrost timer works, thinking it is broken. Frigidaire understood this might be an issue for some owners and suggests double-checking the defroster for normal operation because it may not be malfunctioning at all.

Your mechanical defrost clock timer is located in the control panel where the rotary knobs are for the ED25 model given which is a Whirlpool SxS, For the Frigidaire Mod FRS, your defrost control will most likely be located in the long housing running down the center wall (front to back) of the fridge near the outlet vent, this is an electronic adaptive defrost control. Freezer works but fresh food seems warm

If you have frost on the back wall of the freezer compartment you have a defrost problem. When the freezer coil does not defrost the refrigerator does not get air for cooling.
