Turn it over and clean out the brushes and collecting area. Blow out the machine with a clean, dry compressed air source.

SOURCE: "Please clean Roombas brushes"

Same thing happened to me. After "cleaning" the brushes and emptying the filter several times, I realized that the brushes were not properly secured. One of the yellow fasteners needed to be pushed closer to the middle nearer to the brushes. It was not secured properly. When I did this it fixed my problem.

Why is roomba suddenly noisey?

I just uploaded the manual for Roomba 500 Series. I believe it's page 25 that has the trouble-shooting section that tells what the different sounds that the this series of Roomba make, and what needs to be done to take care of them. I will upload addition models.
If this doesn't cover the noises you Roomba is making, please be more specific.

Strange rattling noises

I only hear rattling sounds when my Roomba has picked up something (like a coin sized item) that is too big/heavy to pass through to the filter compartment. Flip it over on it's back, unlatch the cover on the left and right sides and pop out the two spinning bars. Usually whatever was making the sound is caught there. Since your bars are out, give it a good cleaning. Remove all the hair anywhere you see it.

My roomba wakes up in the middle of the night and makes wired noises

Is this a Roomba with, 1. low power, 2. one that had low power, but is now charged up and ready to go or 3. did your power go off briefly the night and when it came back on Roomba got a power surge and "responded". You might want to try unplugging Roomba when not charging or being used. I did this but it seemed to affect how long by Roomba could run later between battery recharges.

IRobot rumba 4000 seems to run ok and then starts making a kinda hi pitched growling noise and slows way down. it is very clean(blown clean with air compressor)sensors are clear ,newly installed well...

It sounds like your Roomba's brush gears are not working. Run the robot without the dust bin to see if the brushes are turning. If they are not, the robot will need to be replaced. Contact iRobot CS for support at (877) 855-8593.

Roomba 530 makes a thumping noise every secondand stops with a message to clean he brushes. I have cleaned the brushes and filter but to no availe the thumping continues.

You also need to pull off the yellow bearings from the end of the brushes (one on the brush one and one on the rubber one) and remove hair from the axle there.

My roomba 530 runs in a circle and does not move forward. After 2 minutes it stops with 11 beeps and a flashing red light to the left of the power button. It has no clicking noise. Does anyone know what is...

Hey'
This means Roomba is not registering obstacles. Roomba may be stuck in one place.
Roomba may be in extremely large room, try setting up virtual walls to create smaller area.
If Roomba is not in a large room, tap Roomba's bumper to confirm it is properly working.

Hope this helps

Ah ha!!! After cleaning the brushes umpteen times I worked out that you have to remove the very small yellow pieces (not the other ones which sit on the end) but the ones right on the end and look for hair that is caught on the spindle. No more clicking noise either!
