Maytag neptune too much water, will not drain, door won't unlock

Maytag neptune washer has way too much water in the tub, will not drain, will not spin, and the door won't unlock. We turned the water supply off to the washer and at least 5 gallons of water has come out the door but we can't get the door to unlock. When we turned off the machine's power it still kept trying to go through the wash cycle. This all began just today. I used the machine 3 days ago and it worked fine.
Can anyone help us locate a possible starting place for the problem?

    Thank You very much for your response. We went to the pump to check for something stuck in there only to find in our very cold (around 5 or so degrees) weather the pump had frozen up. But you saved us from giving up and purchasing a new washer. Thanks again.

You may have something stuck in the pump a sock or a dish towel something small. you will have to get to the pump,,,thats why it wont drain or spin out it cant.

Hello, The earlier Maytag Neptune front loaders have a balance ring on the inner tub that has liquid in it and that causes the sloshing sound when you turn the tub by hand. That is normal.

I noticed that you have a MAH3000... Have you replaced your door latch wax motor yet? If not, it will fail and damage your control board located behind the timer. See NeptuneHelpSong for a video that explains the failure.

I have a Maytag front load washer. The washer will not drain and the door will not unlock. All of the power sources and hoses have been checked, is there a way to manually unlock it?
If you have a wet dry shop vac you can use it. Connect it to the end of the drain hose and remove the water that way and the door should unlock.
Once the water is gone you will need to check the drain pump and hoses for anykind of obstructions.

My maytag washer mah-24 have a "nd" msg. which mean "not draining" and now i cannot open the door to take the clothes out. pls. help.
Unlocking the door:
Turn on the washer, but don't start any wash cycles. After a few minutes, the door should unlock itself.

Troubleshooting the "nd" message:
"nd" means "no drain". Empty the (now unlocked) washer and fill the wash tub with just enough water to see a bit of water at the bottom of the tub. Run a drain cycle and check a) if it drains and b) if there are any unusual noises while it is draining. If either event occurs during the drain cycle, the drain pump may have to be repaired/replaced.

Why isn't the maytag neptune draining? when you spin the barrel you can hear water?
if you do not see water in the tube and the clothes have spun out enough to go into the dryer when the washer cycle finishes the washer has drained out all of the water the water you hear in the tub when the door is open and you spin the tub with your hand that liquid is in the sealed balance ring , that is a sealed channel around the front of the tub to help the machine stay balanced it does not come out

Door is locked, no power to on off switch
if there is still water in the tub.then you can use a wet dry shop vac and attach it to then end of the drain hose and remove all the water,once the water is removed the door should unlock after you turn it back on.then you can check the drain pump for obstructions.
have you checked the power coming off the board to the switch

Maytag Neptune won't drain
your pump is clogged with matt mud...
remove the back panel
the pump will be right on the left
two hose clazmps
you will loose a gal water
1/4 turn on the pump it will now come out
disconnect the two wires...
clean the pump out and try to clean out sump hose and drain hose
sump from tub to pump
darin pump to drain
reassemble your done

The water level fails to drop below the Low Water level reset within 15 minutes, before a spin begins.

Washer tub won't empty even thoufh whole cycle done
you need to get the drain hose out and lower it into a bucket and let gravity do the rest, all the hose has to be lower than the water level in the machine though, and get the drain pump and sump checked out for blockages after.

Maytag neptune front load washer says control lock and wont start and buttons wont work
unplug the washer for 15 minutes then:plug it back in and, restart a few times in a different cycle canceling each time until the door opens. Do this only if the tub is not full of water if it is let me know and, i'll show you how to drain the washer first before we try to open the door.

Sound like water still in washer
its water in the tub ring only thats to balance the load while in use..no water in bottom of tub,,you will here the sound of water in the ring when door is open and tub ismove,,but thats all..you will never see water,,if you see water there a problem..onthejob
