Question about HTC 7 Surround Cell Phone

HTC 7 Surround stuck at splash screen

I had a windows 7 htc surround cell phone. had it for about an year now. loved it, never had a problem with it until recently I put it up for charging and the os gets stuck on the white htc splash screen. No matter for how long I leave it open, it doesn't move past the splash screen. A common fix I found over the web is to restore factory settings. although i havent tried it myself, but it seems to have mixed reviews. it works for some and doesnt work for the majority. I dont want to loose all my data as yet, and looking for a different fix.

Your explanation doesn't make sense.
True people don't want to lose their data and if not backed up too bad.
Much is already backed up on google and reloads when reset.
Your question fits many who don't own the phone.
Take the phone back where you got it and have them fix it.
There is a problem with the phones boot loader and yes it can mess up on OTA from cell carrier; but mostly it is caused from people trying to root/crack/etc..

PLease do a hard reset on the phone and here is how you do it .

1. Turn the phone off. If it's frozen or unresponsive, pull then replace the battery.
2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons and power the phone back on.
3. Continue to hold Volume Up and Volume Down until a factory reset screen appears.

SOURCE: htc surround phone for att

you could have a bad/loose port, which means there is nothing you can do without replacing the phone or trying a charging mat. I would suggest going to a carrier and see if you can borrow a battery to see if the battery is just bad. If that does not work, try to talk to Bestbuy about trying the mat in-store. I assume they have an adapter for this model, as I have seen others talking about it.

My htc surround will turn on but it is just a white fuzzy screen

Sounds like the phone got wet, the battery is hosed or you have serious controller board issues. I would go to your carrier and see if they can give you another battery to try in the store. If that does not fix it, then you are stuck buying a new one, if you don't have insurance.
