Question about Sharp R-1514 Microwave Oven

LCD Display only partially working

I have not disassembled te unit yet. I am trying to find the part but have not had any luck. Is the dispaly only available with the main control board? If that is the case is there any work around?

I had the same problem with the same model. Died about 6 mths after the purchase but I couldn't return it. It looks like conductive rubber between motherboard and display goes bad and there is no replacement. I leared to 'live with it'.
Just make sure you press clear every time before entering cooking tim. (Beeper still works so I know that I pressed a button)

No display on LCD panel on my whirlpool microwave

I do not know what procedure you used to replace the door, but if the buttons and display were working fine before you replaced the door then it seems that there is a plug not plugged into the control display panel. Other than that the low voltage power supply may not be providing the needed voltage for the display and only for the logic circuits which are a different voltage. With the microwave unplugged, take the cover off and look at all the connectors and make sure that they are plugged into something and none that are not plugged in. They should all go somewhere. To answer your original question, there is only one main fuse to the microwave. The circuitry in the control panel operates on low voltages +/- 5 volts or +/-12v so that part is not fused. What I recommend also is to go back mentally through the procedure you used to replace the door and that may give you a clue as to what you unplugged, although you should not have to unplug anything.

The digital display is very dim and hard to read even in the dark. Is there a way to adjust the brightness?

I have a Sharp Carousel 1.5kW microwave oven with model number R-310F(W)C. The LCD dispaly on my unit recently became very dim. After check the small circuit board on the front panel, I found that the problem is caused by the LCD backlight driver which drives three surface mount LEDs. As the LED driver is inside a chip built on a small daughter card, it requires a replacement daughter card, or the entire circuit board for display and keyboard. A simple alternative solution is to cut the link between the three LEDs and their driver, then build a small circuit to drive the LEDs. I can provide the circuit diagram if interested.

Microwave Display

Have you tried unplugging the unit for several minutes and then plugging it back in?

The oven's microprocessor receives the input commands from the front panel switches and it also drives the digital display.

Since the switches work and the oven works, the microprocessor appears to be functioning fine. I would say you have a defective display or a power supply issue that powers the display.

Unfortunately, you'll need to take it to be serviced.

Please let me know if I can be of further service to you.

Good luck!
