Question about Viking 27" Professional Select Built-in Electric Single Wall Oven
When not in use our Viking wall oven buzzes a high pitch noise that is quite irritating It sounds like it is Coming from the clock part. As soon as you start the oven or press any of the buttons the noise stops Please help me figure out how to get this nose to end, it is driving us crazy
The low voltage transformer on the ERC control is vibrating from not doing anything, when you put a load on this transformer it will quit, only fix is to possibly remove ERC and jam a piece of NON-Flammable/NON-electrical metal to keep it from vibrating and try this first,if this doesn't help, replace the noisy board with this transformer on it

SOURCE: viking oven won't turn on
I had same problem (twice) with my Viking dual fuel range. In my case a relay that supplies power to the oven heating elements failed. The convection fan would run. The elements were warm to the touch. If you have a free standing range, it may be that relay (part number PM010026) which is located in the front of the stove. Remove a long narrow stainless steel panel (1 screw each side) located under where the door hinges. You can hear the relay click when you turn up the oven thermostat. That will help you locate the relay.
Note: Viking does not sell parts. You have to find their parts distributor for your part of the country.

The ignitor is still sparking because the 'ring' around the burner is a bit dirty and cannot 'conduct' electric current. The ignitor will arc until the flame lights, then the current flow from the ignitor unit conducts through the flame and down through the ring on the burner. Clean around the whole burner with a SOS or steel wool pad.
You say 'elements' don't heat. Oven or burners? The top burners may be arching a bit from being jostled during repair. Push them firmly back into the receticle on top. If oven element, check to ensure tight connections on back of element and make sure the sitting on brackets that hold them in place in oven.

Hello. The Viking does have fans which operate continuously to insure even baking. If it sounds like fans running, this is the convection fan operating. J.
