It should be located somewhere on the motherboard wich means pulling the computer completely apart which unless you know what you are doing may be a little difficult for some, but not inpossible.

To have it done , you are talking anywhere between £400-£600 to get a firm to do it , this is due to the rarity of the screen as 13.1 is not a common screen size and I'm certain the screen is wxga which makes it all the more expensive , most expensive parts to buy with sony are the lcd's , been there done that bought the t-shirt , sometimes it's cheaper to buy a netbook to get you by, than resort to repairs , well that's my 2 cents , hope it helps

Yes the cmos battery is on the motherboard.
Every motherboard that runs a computer has a backup battery to run the circuit while turned off. This battery runs the real-time clock (RTC) and is referred to as the CMOS battery. By keeping the clock active and running even when the computer is switched off, power up/down cycles can be logged and before the internet, your computer could keep dates accurately. It also serves to maintain the system configuration settings in BIOS memory based on RAM or FLASH RAM.
