Question about Microwave Ovens

Microwave glass tray is broken. It is discontinued.

My old Kenmore microwave glass tray broke. Sears says it is discontinued, and I don't want to buy a new microwave. Can I subsitute with anything else? Is it safe to use the microwave without anything on the bottom? It is not a rotating kind. It was a large, tray 14" by 15".

Yes you will not hurt anthing by not putting on the bottom. One substitution that works extremely well is to find you a plate like they use in regular ovens or anything that is microwavable of that sort. Sears has an excellent selection of microwavable cookware and there is nothing in the rule book that say you canno find you a piece to match the bottom of your microwave. It works either way. Good luck and God bless.

Can't find replacement turning tray for 2009 Kenmore Microwave

Check with some repair places that fix microwaves, our shop keeps ones if the unit is beyond repair, may find a good used one for very little that way--almost all use the same type of drive on the bottom.

Need new glass tray for Kenmore microwave bought in 1977. Model # 99371.

They made Microwaves in 1977? wow. I would try an appliance junkyard, or ebay. We have used a microwave safe plate of the right size and it worked well. Good luck!

I have a Kenmore microwave model 721.61820100 and the turntable wheels just broke. Which part do I need to replace it. The glass part is not broken, just the wheels on which it rotates on.

The part you need is the turntable support. Sears shows the part on their parts site, and here's another source that I use. The support just slides onto the motor shaft through the hole in the bottom of the oven.

Need to buy turn table for microwave

You can order one online from Sears parts direct or check you local yellow pages for an appliance parts dealer. The part number for the glass tray is 1B71961F and should run about $30.00.

Our Kenmore model 721.80833500 tray jumps off its track. This has progressively gotten worse over time and now the little end wheel on the rotating arm has broken off. The microwave still works and still...

Found 2 possible solutions on the net. (1) Check the engineering change at a Sears store. They reengineered the glass tray and the narrow plastic band the tray glides on. Get the new items from Sears. (2) Cut 1/4" out of the narrow plastic band the glass tray glides on. Possible solutions that look promising.

Kenmore elite microwave/vent hood model 721.80834500 turntable

I bought a Kenmore Elite Microwave Hood Combination Model 721.80823500 at Sears. The installer did not bring the parts to connect the vent to the pipe on the ceiling and never came back. I cannot find the vent/exhaust connetor part to have it installed. No one knows. I appreciate information or installer. Thanks.

Broken glass tray

Even though these are discontinued, there are apparently a few places where you can still get one of these as "new old stock".

The proper part numbers are either MW-7600-11 or MW-7600-12 and you can order one by part number here.

It may take a week or two, and they may reply back that they were unable to find one, in which case they will not charge you.

If you can't find one, you can check eBay or Wal-Mart and other stores to see if they have a Rubbermaid or Nordic Ware (NordicWare) wind-up turntable like this "Micro-Go-Round". (I've seen them at Wal-Mart).

In some cases, two microwave-safe plates can serve as a makeshift replacement for a missing tray. You have to find a saucer that fits securely on your turntable support, though. I've attached a photo of that, too.

Good luck.
