Swap radio I have the radio/tape/CDplayer from a 2001 grand am the moonsoon with all the toys. Can I instal it into my 1995 GMC Diesel half ton. The current one only has the tape player and I want both tape and CD.

I believe it will, but you will have to ensure that they are both the same type, which should be a 4L60E if it's a half ton. You will also have to remove the transfer case and install the tail shaft extension onto the end of the transmission. Also, make sure that they have the same gear ratios. If swapping from a 1/2 ton to a 1/2 ton it should match. If swapping from a 1/2 ton or Tahoe to a 3/4 ton, there may be an issue.

small trucks like that are considered 1/4 ton. silverado 1500 1/2 ton an silverado 2500 3/4 and up. same goes for gmc

If the wheels have five lug nuts it's a half ton; 6 lug nuts is a 3/4 ton; eight lug nuts is a one ton.

Most likely the antenna. Check to see if its plugged in.

good luck should be able to swap shaft but what about the switches inside the trans let me know how it goes

Yes they will swap out nicely, the years where they made the change is in 1997 and the only difference is the transmission end housing has a different bolt pattern but has the same internal parts. You may also want to swap out the servo's with a corvette servo. The cost is around $45.00 and can be done without dropping the transmission pan, this will make your transmission shift firmer and will have less clutch slip[ between gear shifts. If the overall length of the tailshafts are the same, If I remember correctly, you can just swap the tailshaft housings.In some cases though, the output shaft needs to be swapped as well. Check with any transmission shop and they can tell you for sure!
