Question about Kenmore Elite 45986 Front Load Washer
There is a thin wire ring with a spring that attached the two ends. It seems that a a shirt sleave was caught between the door, because that shirt was wound very tightly. I don't know where this thin ring came from. or where to put it
That ring goes around the front door boot. There is a black rubber seal that goes around the entire basket and door. That ring seals it. There is a small lip at the edge of the seal that the ring sits on. What you will want to do is put the ring around the seal and use needle nose pliers to stretch the spring attaching it to the other end. It is a pain to get it attached. After you attach it you will want to make sure you have a proper seal around it so feel around it making sure it is in that lip. If you have any other questions let me know and let me know if this was helpful for you. Good luck and I am glad I could help you out.
