In this case unplug the Power Supply from the Printer...............
Take Out both the catridges from the Printer.................
Move the Catridge Carrier which holds the Catridges inside the Printer from left to right and from right to left for about 20 Times.......................
now insert both the catridges inside the Printer and Plug in the Power Supply and see whether you get the error message again.................
If u still have that error message please Call lexmark:
1-800-LEXMARK (539-6275)

Just call this number because the Enchoder strip has to be replaced........
Good Luck

Carrier Jam, there's nothing in it, I put new cartridge in still saids carrier jam, other then that this thin strip came out

The thin strip could be the encoder strip (transparent strip) which is responsible for the proper movement of the cartridge carrier along the carrier assembly. Please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.

Error 1203 and carrier jam error

Error 1203 on a Lexmark is an issue that occurs either when a cartridge is bad or the printer cartridge Slot is bad... I would suggest you to try cleaning the copper contacts of the both carts and cart slot in the printer and try again..

If that doesn't work just call up their support number and check for replacement..

Newly installed won't stop jamming paper

Paper Jams in the Printer ID:412

Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button. (On the X83, press the Select button.)
Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.

If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
Turn the printer off.
Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.

If this didn't work please replace the printer by the company..
