Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-WX9 Digital Camera

How to remove the burst setting from Hi (or Lo) burst mode to single shot setting?

This camera seems to be stuck in burst mode so it always takes multiple pics in a single press of the shoot button. How can I revert it back to single shoot mode? Thanks.

When I attempt to turn the Sony DSC-W1 camera on it make a single ring / chime noise, screen go black & camera shuts down. The lens doesn't open.
The other functions seem to work but when the camera is switched back to the photograph taking mode / icon the camera shuts down. I tried removing the batteries & also tapping on the camera without any positive results. Is anyone else having similar troubles. This camera was repaired by Sony for the same issue last year.
We have another Sony DSC-W7 7.2 mega pixels camera that had similar trouble picture taking operation failed to start lens would not open & screen said to shut down & restart,. Fortunately another Sony camera owners ( on line ) stated to try tapping on the camera. Strangly this cured the trouble.

When i take a picture it saves about 5 of the same pictures

Do u have multiple photo apps? Or u might have the auto-upload option enabled in ur settings. I went into my apps + turned alot of them off! If that doesn't work, do a soft reset, it'll definitely stop the madness!

My camera takes 3 pictures instead of 1,

What you are on is sometimes called "Burst" mode. It is meant to be taking pictures of things like baseball players, so you can get the shot right were he hits the ball. I am not a owner of an olympus camera, but look through your cameras settings, and try to find that setting and switch to "single".
Look in your manuel for more detailed instructions.

Flash off mode and want flash on

The Burst setting takes a series of photos, and as such the flash is not usuable as it would not charge fast enough.

I suggest you inititialize the camera -

Turn camera on
Press Menu
Scroll all way across to the right to 'Setup'
Scroll down to the 3rd icon
hit righ hand scroll button, then down to Initialize
Across and up to OK
Hit middle key, then up to OK again and middle key

Camera will turn off, then on at date setting screen
Set the date, and camera will be back to factory seting with the burst off, and flash modes available :)

Burst mode?

There's not much you can do. You can either shoot in burst mode without flash or shoot single shots, giving the flash a chance to charge between shots.

Nikon D60 Digital SLR--Slow Shutter Speed

Your're probably using a flash with TTL disabled. So 1/200 is the highest sync possible with that kind of flash. Did you try removing the flash off the body and setting faster shutter speeds?

Whenever a photo is taken it takes two shots instead of one

I would imagine you have the camera set in burst mode- you need to change it back to single-shot mode. this should be a button on the exterior of the camera, or in the menu with an icon that looks like a 3 rectangles on top of each other.

Hope this helps.

Burst mode is set in the Menu of the camera. Then press left arrow instead of right arrow. You will see normal or burst mode. Select normal mode. Hope this helps.

Activate flash

Here is the solution: Flash cannot be used in burst mode! You must set the camera to single shot mode!

This really surprised me, since in my old Konica Minolta the burst mode did not prevent flash, it just took a single picture if the flash was activated or multiple pictures when the flash was disabled.

The camera is probably is "Burst" mode where you hit the picture button and it contineously takes the picture. Hit menu and look to see if you have it set to burst mode if so take it off and it will work..I just found the answer on here :)
