Question about Mitsubishi WS-55513 55" Rear Projection HDTV

2 Answers

Mitsubishi ws55513 Hello! I have the blinking light of death and I have replaced the capacitors and I still have the blinking light. The caps were bulged out so they were bad but once I replaced the new ones, the tv still has the light. I tried putting the circuit board in without the case to insure that it was put in correctly, and that still didnt work. I tried putting a paper clip on each fuse one by one and plugged in the tv but that was no help. I've tested the fuses with a multimeter and they are fine. Is there anything else I can test? Any suggestions on what to do next? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much! Kim

Did you put the board in yourself? If you did,,, did you unplug any of the wireing? If you did check the wireing harness that you unplug and make sure they all match the letteing in the harness to the lettering on the circuit board ( VA,DB,DA,PA), will be stamp on the circuit board and the correct wireing harness. Mine did the same thing after I had the 7 caps replaced, I put it back together the way I thought it went and the tv still didn't work, so I took it back apart and had 2 of the harness crossed, I fliped them around and matched up all the stamps to the circuit board, put it back together, plug it in, the green light flashed about 30 secounds or so then stop, I hit the power button and it came right on, no problems. you can email me if you have any more question. scott1013781@yahoo.com

There is a small piece of a ground strap under the DM module that the metal case has to engage

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Appreciate the direct "Ask Me". My compliments on accomplishing the replacement of the 4 1000 uF/16V capacitors on the DM board.

To your concern, the blinking is still there even after having replaced the caps, a friendly reminder, the capacitors are polarized, there are specific +/-. Additionally, you may have to check the pico fuses. They would be on the backside of the DM board and would be very close near to the solder points of the 4 caps. They are marked FB900, FB901 and FB902. Rating would be 125V 4amp. Possible source maybe here.

Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.
