Sounds like it needs to be re synced with the system, Easy place batteries in Wiimote and turn on console press the red sync button in the back of the Wiimote and press the red sync button on the console it is now synced. If this fails it could be that the Wiimote has failed, if Wiimote had failed within warranty period of 90days from date of purchase return for repair or replacement if it is after warranty period discard and replace with a new Wiimote.

SOURCE: remotes not synchronising

 1. Press the Power button on the Wii console to turn it on.
 2. Open the SD Card Slot cover on the front of the Wii console. Remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote you wish to sync up.
 3. Press and release the SYNC button on the inside of the SD Card compartment on the console. Press and release the SYNC button just below the batteries on the Wii Remote.
 4. When the Player LED blinking stops, the syncing is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1 through 4).

SOURCE: Wii Remote Control Stopped Working

This happened to my son. I did some reading and found out you have to resynchronize the remote. This is from the manual
1) Press the Power button on the Wii console to turn it on.
2)Remove th battery cover on the back of the remote and press the SYNC. button inside the cover. The Player LEDs will blink.
3)Open the SD Card Slot cover on the front of the Wii console and press the SYNC button on the inside of the compartment
4)When the Player LED blinking stops, connection is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number.
This procedure must be followed for each additional Wii remote added to your system.

This worked for me, hope it helps you.

How to snychronize a Wii Remote to the Wii console

A lot of people have trouble synchronizing their Wii Remotes to their Wii console. I have written a short tutorial on how to do this.

Figure out which scenario is similar to yours and proceed with the solution-

1) When you turn on the Wii console and press any button on the remote no lights light up at all. This is because the remote is dead, you must replace the batteries in the battery compartment on the underside of the remote. If the controller is using a charge pack you need to put the controller on its charger.

2) When you turn on the Wii console and press a button on the controller all four lights blink a couple times then turn off. This means the controller is not synchronized. If your controller has ever been previously synchronized all you need to do is press the 1 and 2 buttons at the same time and it will sync up.

3) If option 2 doesn't work then this means you are preforming a first time synchronization with the remote. While the Wii console is turned on you should open the little compartment that is just below the disc tray. Then you should press the little red button. After pressing the red button you should open your Wii Remotes battery compartment, remove the batteries and press a similar little red button inside of the compartment. Put the batteries back into the controller and the controller should be synchronized!

If none of these solutions are working then the problem is a technical issue with either the Wii remote or the Wii system, you should contact technical support for more information.

I hope this helped with the synchronization of Wii Remotes!
Wii remotes no long respond (one or more remotes) - sync lost

Lately after firmware updates or power loss the Wii will un-pair from the Wiimotes. Some players don't know how to solve this problem. They assume it is the Wii or the batteries in the Wiimote but when they switch them or power off the unit, this doesn't fix it. Reason is that the Wiimotes need to be re-paired (re-synced). This Tip will explain how to do this.

1) In the front of the Wii there is a door. Inside this door you will find the SD card slot. next to the SD card slot there is a RED button with the word "Sync" on it. This is used to put the Wii in bluetooth discovery mode.

2) Take the first remote and remove the battery cover. Below the batteries is a small Red dot button. This is the Wiimote's connection button. First turn on the Wii then press and hold the Wii's Sync button for a few seconds to initiate Discovery Mode. Press and hold the Wiimote's button for a few seconds until the "Player Number" lights on the bottom of the front of the remote blink. The connection is complete when the Wiimote's "Player 1" light goes solid and the Wii will advance to the menu.

3) To re-sync (re-pair) the additional Wiimote's. Repeat the process but this time leave the Wii turned on. With each remote the next player light should turn on. Do this until each remote is synced.

The Wii turns on but the remote won't connect to the screen...all lights working also, bought a new sensor bar and still nothing...???

Turn on the Wii console, when at the home screen press any button on the wii remote, if the lights on the wii remote remain dark then it needs new batteries.

If the lights all light up at the same time then stop this means you are not synced. Press the 1 and 2 buttons at the same time to sync, this will work if they have been synced before.

If your four lights still blink blue then you need to open the little compartment on the console that is right below the disc tray. Inside is a little red button, press the button. Now open your battery compartment on the wii remote and take out the battery, then press the red button inside. Put the battery back in and the controller should sync up. If you are still having trouble you will need to contact Nintenedo Technical Support.

Hope this helped!

Cant calibrate tony hawk shred board to my wii. I've tried everything

At last! My Son's Tony Hawk Shred board was one more try from being thown down the garden, as i have been trying since Christmas day, & finally there it was a board i could use. I've followed all bits of advice in a number of differant ways --- here's what worked for me, Turn off at the wall Sky TV, Turn off all lights (only tv turned on), put my crutches in another room (because large metal objects interfere with soft ware), Remove dog from room, Put senser bar on floor, Turn Wii console side on so that Dongle faced away from tv (aiming into centre of room), Place Shred board on floor facing tv/senser at about three feet away. Start process of game set up untill you get to choose a profile, Select profile, press & hold for 5 secs start button on board untill the four blue lights start to flash at a rate of about one flash per sec, then hold on same button untill blue lights flash quickly, then press & hold Dongle button untill Dongle light stays on, with in 2 secs game calibartion instructions start, BEWARE Tony Hawks responce when process starts is as annoying as not being able to get board started. Good luck when up & running it is one Awesome game!

Syncing your Wii-mote to your Nintendo Wii

So you just bought a new Nintendo Wii Remote Controller but when you click the power button the four blue lights at the bottom just blink huh? Well that just means your Remote needs to be synchronized to your Wii.

Here are simple step by step instructions to do so.

1) Turn on your Nintendo Wii.
2) Open the door on the front of your Wii covering the SD card slot and the SYNC button.

I put new batteries in, all four light flash four times and then it shuts down.I pushed the little red button next to the batteries and all four lights flash fout times and then shut down. Can this be...

What shuts down? The Wii Remote?

If so, sounds like they need to be synced to the Wii. When the controller looks for a connection and doesn't find it, they will shut down to save battery life.

You need to turn on the Wii with the Wii Remote [press power button on the Wii remote that is working] then click into the Wii Menu by clicking the HOME button on the Wii remote. You will then click to Wii Remote Settings. From there, click RECONNECT on the Connection menu. That will instruct you to press 1 & 2 on each remote to sync them.

Wii controllers not working, new batteries, but will not move on screen...

You need to synchronise the remotes. Take off the battery covers on the wii remotes and open up the flap on the front of the wii where you can put a memory card in. Press the red button that is above the memory card slot and at the same time press the red button that is above where the batteries go on each remote. The wii remotes should flash and eventually give a solid light on either the first or second led at the bottom of the wii remotes. When this happens both remotes are synced.

Wii remotes are not responding to anything. batteries have been changed and lights are flashing but

You need to synchronize them to your Wii. First turn on your Wii. Open the battery compartment on the back of your Wii-mote and the front SD Card door on the front of your Wii. There is a little round red SYNC button on the back of your Wii-mote and a red SYNC button on your Wii in that door. Press the button on the remote and then on the Wii and it should sync. If it doesn't work at first try again. You know it is synched when one of the four LED lights at the bottom of the Wii-mote is solid.
