Question about CD Players
My JVC XL-F211TN 5-disc carousel CD player doesn't work correctly. When I try to play it, the tray doesn't align correctly with the laser hole and the display shows the CD that is supposed to be playing as another one. Example: The tray closes with disc #2 closest to the laser hole, but disc #5 is displayed as the one ready to play on the display. Also, the Disk Skip button won't rotate the tray of the player when it's pushed. It's says on the display that it's skipping to the next CD, but the tray doen't move (except when I push the Open/Close button). Also, the Power button doesn't turn off the CD player most of the time. I have to turn off my power strip & turn it back on to get the player into Standby mode.

It can be repaired but in all of my years in consumer repair, I dread the CD/DVD tray alignments the worst.
There are many things involved in getting them to operate without fail. Using the mfgs documentation you can get them up and running but most of the time they failed because something is amiss to begin with. So you spend an hour getting everything setup and it will work once or twice but them fail. Only to find out that a location sensor is bad or a gear is missing a tooth....
