Some program have poor sound quality. Laptops are not known for great sound, the speakers are small by design. I use a Bose SoundDock external speaker system. Take a look : http://www.bose.com/controller?url=/shop_online/digital_music_systems/sounddock_systems/sounddock/index.jsp

SOURCE: my acer one 's volume is too low and i cant hear

Solution for Linpus
First you need to get a command prompt, on the Files section, start up My Documents, then on the file menu of My Documents, choose terminal. Now you have your command window, type alsamixer which should start the crude/raw device controller. Hit f5 so that the view goes to all i.e. View: Playback Capture [All] Set Master and PCM to their maximum setting (use up arrow to increase and tab to jump from <Master> to <PCM> Hit esc key to exit Type sudo alsactl store (then return of course) You should get a 100% volume increase.

It sounds like a audio output ic problem, try a system restore and bring computer back before this was a issue, just to make it is not a software problem.

the only thing I can suggest is to look in the mixer area of your volume controls during a conversation to see if the volume for that application is turned down. Worth a try as this is separate from the application volume controls

I have had that laptop once and had the same problem. I knew that it was the maximum volume of the speaker so I purchased external USB speakers to connect to the computer and the sound was clear and loud enough to hear anything played on the computer.

I can barely hear anything, from a video in an email or something on you tube, the volume is all the way up but it isn't a third as loud as my dell. HELP

The suggestions in the manual may not help. Go to the Acer site and make sure that you have the latest audio driver. There is considerable chatter in the forums about unsatisfactory volume in that model.
The manual may be downloaded at: http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/manuals/acer/0000/userguides/AS5600_3680_UG.pdf
The manual gives the following answer:
No audio is heard from the computer. Check the following: • The volume may be muted. In Windows, look at the volume control (speaker) icon on the taskbar. If it is crossed-out, click on the icon and deselect the Mute all option. • The volume level may be too low. In Windows, look at the volume control icon on the taskbar. You can also use the volume control buttons to adjust the volume. See "Hotkeys" on page 30 for more detail. • If headphones, earphones or external speakers are connected to the lineout port on the computer, the internal speakers automatically turn off.

Volume too low on zen

Try going to System>Audio Settings>Restrict Volume on your ZEN. This is a password protected feature for parental controls i guess... If this doesn't work, get a hearing aid : )

Do you know if my woofer is blown?

well if you hear a rattle sound its probably already blown...and the amp could be drawing too much power if the radio shuts off...make sure all your wiring is correct. also if your car is off and you turn it up it will most likely shut off cause the battery cant handle it. but as for the sub i think its blown. good luck

Loudness Equalization : on

Equalizer: Choose one (Jazz seems to be loudest setting but sounds of hallway effect so I use powerful for clarity.)

This has more than doubled the level of volume on my acer 5570.
