Question about HP PSC 950 All-In-One InkJet Printer

2 Answers

I need to scan a document from my printer/scanner (HP psc 950) onto my PC. I have pushed all the obvious button and thought I was downloading the image from the scanner to my computer. Turns out I was not. Are there specific setting the printer need to on? Are there setting for my computer?

I did not install the scanner myself, I am actually working out of my bosses house today and nobody here seems to know who installed the printer/scanner. I will see if I can download the software...

I hit the button to copy but "warming up" shows. When I cancel, the "copy" light keeps flashing red.

When you installed the scanner did it install any software? You will probably find it easier to use the software to scan images - and you will probably get more options (resolution, text/picture, file location for scans).

I believe this printer comes with the Readiris Pro 5.5 software for OCR.
If this is installed on your computer use it to scan the document and send it to your desired location/application by selecting it in the text format screen.
All this is done from the computer not the scanner.
Any questions, re post and I'll try to help.

If its a photo or picture image just scan directly into the document from the desired application.

I can't scan documents into my computer. I need this done ASAP. I'm using a HP 950 printer/scanner/fax/copier. I don't know why it will not scan. Please help.

Try using the HP Solution Center Icon instead of using the button on the printer itself. If you already are doing that then check in My Scans in the My Documents section. Should list as " SCAN001" or something similar.
Hope this Helps,

I need to scan a document from the printer (HP psc 950) to my PC

If you are using a Win Xp computer than try to scan using scanners and cameras utility under control panel. Else you can download HP scan drivers and perform scanning. Also 3rd party scan softwares such as photo shop will allow you to  scan.

Hp psc 950 from scanner to pc save

I was having the same problem when I pressed the "Scanner" and then "PC Save" buttons. But I found that if you have the printer software installed on your PC, you can double-click on the printer icon that should be on your desktop, and a window will come up where you can scan, copy & view images, etc. Hope that helps.
