I GOT DIFFICULTIES USING VISTA HOME BASIC

Formerly, i was using XP SP2, and due to several applications that are intergrated in VISTA H.B., I jumped into it.
Now my problem is I´m not familiar with the VISTA and is giving troubles for it implementation, so, I wanna step back to my old XP SP2 and can´t get it.
After inserting my installation disc which contains the XP SP2 I´m promped with an error message informing me that the drive can not be found.
I have tried the process with four diferent brands of LAPTOPS which includes ACER, TOSHIBA, DELL and HP, and can´t get problem solved
So plz I need your Help,
I´ll be gratefull if you could give a hand.
Thanks in advance.
My name is RUBEN

Boot into bios and choose auto for the hard drive to let it find it. Then f10 or f9 which ever yours is to save and reboot.

This link also describes the downgrade process.

I cant put a wallpaper

As you have not mentioned the Operating System, let me provide the general information.

But, please do not worry, I'll also provide you the alternate options.

In all the Windows Operating Systems, the Desktop Wallpaper can be changed by using the Display Properties option.

The option to change the Wallpaper is only not available with these Operating Systems:

1) Windows Vista Home basic.
2) Windows 7 Home basic.

However, here's the key.

You may change the Desktop Wallpaper by using any third party Applications.

This also applies to the Windows Vista and Windows 7 Home Basic Operating Systems.

I have mentioned one such Application below:

http://jamesgart.com/wallpaperchanger/WallpaperMasterV2.16.exe

You may download the Wallpaper Changer Application from the below link.

Hope this helps.

Please feel free to ask further questions.

I unable to install Xp in my compaq cq61-132tu. The install option just doesn't get highlighted. Also, i don't have another computer.

I assume you are attempting a "downgrade" to Xp from Vista, since this laptop does not come with XP.
From the Compaq information page:
  1. HP does NOT support XP for consumer notebooks, so if you have any difficulties regarding XP, do not expect HP will help you.
  2. HP may demand you to install back VISTA if you have hardware problem to troubleshoot it.
An option to consider-put your original Vista hdd away and install new one for XP.
  3. Some of the notebook features may not work in XP due to uncertified licenses pointed in this guide.
  4. Microsoft has released three (3) Service Packs for XP, use only SP2 for the first trial. Why? Since many of XP drivers are released based on XP-SP2.
  5. Always make Vista Recovery cd/dvd before downgrade to XP. see it here
  6. You have a folder with drivers & programs that may prove very helpful after XP downgrade.
Copy folder C:\Swsetup to DVD Before formatting your hdd.
  7. If you have a pre-SP2 XP cd, get the full SP to Integrate with Nlite: SP2 Nlite HERE
The help guide for downgrading is here. There is a lot of information on this process written there.

However, if what you want is a an XP look and feel so you can compute the way you used to, change the Vista to look like XP in the display properties.
If you are trying to run non-Vista software, try running it in compatibility mode. To do this, right click on the program files and select properties and then locate compatibility..

Acer 4736 compatibility with eb-s6 projector in usb display mode.

Check the Microsoft knowledge base for a "workaround" for this issue.
Try doing a search for "device not recognized" there should be several steps to correct this issue. However this may be due to compatibility with your projector and the usb port drivers. Contact the manufacturer or go to his website for driver and usb information on your Projector ability to connect to your Acer. Good luck!

Downgrade Vista Home Basic to Xp SP2

first, you have to know who manufactured those hardware liek for example a vga card, if its nvidia then you should check their site and look for the appropriate driver now if you can't figure out what are their brand, you caninstall them through automatic searching just go to device manager and right click on the icon that needs to be installed then search automatically if still doesn't worked out, open your cpu and check the hardware in that way, you can easily distinguish who manufactured that hardware
