SOURCE: Suction button

This happens when the filter on the inside of the lid for the dirty water tank is pushed all of the way up. You need to leave a 1/4 in. gap from the top to the top of the filter

SOURCE: not sucking up dirty water

The F5914 has a lid that must be engaged with the tank in order for the suction to reach the floor. Gently lift the front of the lid on the tank and if it lifts up, you haven't engaged the two tabs on the tank into the lid. Remove the lid and make sure the tabs on the tank fit into the grooves on the lid and snap it closed. This should solve your problem. Also, make sure that the removable duct in the front of the tank is in place. It is removed when the hose is used, but must be replaced when the machine is used on the carpet.

Bissel Pro Heat carpet cleaner is not suctioning cleaning water off of the carpet back into the tank. How can I fix this?

There is a knob on the base that says floor and tools. Make sure that it is closing when you switch it to floor, Make sure that the hose works when you use it too. That will tell us what the problem is.

My Hoover steam vac spin scrub will not suction up the cleaning solution . Why is there no suction?

p{margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px;} Hello,

Thank you for your recent e-mail. I am sorry to read about the problem that you are having with your cleaner.

Please make sure your recovery tank and lid are installed correctly and forming proper seals. Make sure that your filter is clean of any debris. Clean the screen in the tank lid. Make sure your nozzle and squeegee (if on your model) are free of dirt/lint/hair and attached in their holsters correctly. Make sure you do not have any clogs in the hose.

To restore suction, please try the following:

*Remove dirty water tank and clean filters- main reason for low suction is dirty filter

*Verify the dirty water tank cap is not missing.

*Verify dirty water tank lid is inserted completely into unit.

*When cleaning, the yellow float inside of dirty water tank should be free moving.

• First remove your clean water tank and unplug the machine
• Remove the dirty water tank lid and push the front panel piece (square plastic sliding piece in the front of tank) down to make sure it is inserted all the way.
• When reattaching the lid, hook the tabs on the front of the lid to the tank first, then click shut in the back. Pull up on the lid firmly, it should not lift at all. If it does, try reattaching as a seal needs to be formed for suction.
• Test to see if suction has been regained.

If these suggestions do not solve your issue please call a service center.

Your cleaner has at least a 6 month warranty for manufacturing defects. This warranty begins from the date of purchase, with the original sales receipt. If you do not have the original sales receipt, the warranty may be verified at the warranty repair center by MFG or serial number.

Leaving bigger dirtier wet spots after cleaning

Sounds like the vacuum motor is defective or you have a clog in the vaccum line. Basically everything is running except the vacuum "Suction" cycle. Do you hear the "Suction" phase (light indicator) during operation when it loudens like a whine? That would be the vacuum phase. Is the dirty water reservoir clean, do you rinse it thoroughly when you empty it? Have you removed the hose assy and rinsed it out? I think it is still part of the auto cycle even if you don't use the manual tool.

Extreme vaccum has no suction.

Make sure you put the dirt cone back in the bucket to create the tight seal. You will have no suction without the dirt cone.

Hoover steam vac spin scrub won't suction the water up.

I fixed my problem by repositioning the tunnel that is on the front of the pick-up tank. It had moved out of position and not allowing a tight seal. It is the white plastic piece that slides a little bit. Good luck.

Usually when it won't pick up water is because the bucket isn't seating all of the way down. Or there is a window gasket or seal, it goes bertween the clear window and the bucket, if it is missing, yiu get no suction thru that clear window. The other is on the one side of the lid for the bucket is a filter, is it clean? And the seal that that filter sits on, is it sealing? If the moror is running, it is sucking, but any leak will cause it to loose that suction.

No suction

Hmmm...I have the same problem...if you remove the water tank and the water collection bucket and look at what is remaining. Now step on the lever to lean the upright part back and there is a hose there that goes from the hand held hose into this hose into the dirty water tank. MINE is broken at that center point between the handheld hose and the dirty water square thingy...It's probably fixable...maybe this helps you?
