Question about HP Deskjet F4180 All-in-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Hp Deskjet F4180 and incompatble ink #27

Hi,

I can only find the 5ml cartridges (#21 not #54 the larger ones) in my small town. I was told by a guy at an ink refill kiosk, that I could also use a #27 cartridge (which is 10ml for nearly the same price). So I bought one, it certainly fits my printer, but the error light keeps blinking and I get the message that this cartridge is not compatible with my computer. Was this guy wrong or is there a way I can bypass this? Please help, otherwise I have wasted my money on this cartridge and I am a student!

This cartridge is no compatible with your printer. You could use refill kits for your original cartridge so you always have ink arround.

Printer (HP deskjet F4180) showing E and color

This means that there is issue with the Ink Cartridges.
Please remove and re-insert the cartridges.
Check the expiration date on them. Also make sure that you are using genuine HP Cartridges, not refilled or Remanufactured.
If the issue still persists, please replace the ink cartridges.

Sounds like your ink cartridges have defective electronics or the pins in your machine are dirty. You can clean the electrical contacts in your printer and on your cartridge first with isopropyl alcohol followed by water on q-tips to remove any alcohol residue. If that doesn't work then you need to replace the ink cartridges to fix the problem.

HP always recommend that ink cartridge should be replace by original ink.

As this kind of scenario will occur if the ink will just be replace by a refill ink.

I have a HP Deskjet F4180 AIO. It is printing

If you just replaced the ink cartridges, make sure you've removed the plastic tabs that cover where the ink shoots out. If they are old cartridges, make sure that the nozles haven't dried up. Remove the cartridges and dab a cloth (one you don't mind staining) where the ink shoots out, if all the colours show up, it's clear. If you notice very little colour, or none at all, try dampening the cloth and wiping down the cartridges to promote inkflow through the nozles. Hope this helps.
