I had to change internet provider, so I had to get a different modem. The router stoped working, so I tried the setup disk the came with the router. I hooked it up like it said exept is says to connect the modem to the router with blue cable (I don't have). I used a regular ethernet cable instead and don't know if that could be a problem.
The problem is I go through the setup wizard and try to save my settings it wont let me. It says "The setup utility was unable to locate a wireless-g broadband router on your network. Please make sure your wireless-g broadband router is powered on and all cables are properly connected." It all hooked up right and the lights are on.
Any old ethernet cable should be fine. The setup disc is generally used only for initial setup to establish communications between router and pc, and to also configure your internet providers settings. You can access your router from your pc by going to http://192.168.1.1 and you can change settings in the router from there instead of using setup disc. If you insist on using the setup wizard disc you usually have to set your computer's ip address to a specific number and possibly reset router to default state (see manual or http://www.linksys.com).

- Since you already had a working setup, if you just replaced the modem and leave cabling as it was before when it was working, you should be able to just go in through your browser into the control panel of the router and change the particulars for your new internet provider (user name, password, etc...).
