Question about HP DeskJet 990cxi InkJet Printer

Color prints not working

9900cxi printer re installed after period of sitting idle. Works fine but cannot get it to print color but black works ok. I have replace color cartridge witha new one but still does not print colour.

Have you gone to file> page setup>printer>properties>paper/quality hope this helps regards Jim

Take color copy, test all colors are OK..Go to printer properties, printing preferences, finishing check is there any check mark on print in black cartridge only? mark on print color..apply..OK.. give print command..
Go to paint draw a color drawing, print it.> check colors if its not printing in color it might be drivers issue.. un install the drivers re install once again check..> if printed in color check the file which you are printed..take another file.. then test..

Installed a new HP black ink cartridge; the officejet 8500 pro will not print any black print. The color ink works okay.


First print a self test page on the printer and check if you have black print on it or not.

To do that Go to your printer :-

Press Setup button -->Go to print report-->hit ok--> use arrow keys and choose the self test page.--> hit ok.

If you have the self test page fine then try to make a black copy from the printer.

Put a black font printout on the scanner glass facing downwards. Press copy black

Check if you have the black ink working.

If yess then there is some thing on the system you are doing wrong. May be the printer properties needs to be set or some settings needs to be checked.

If no then try to clean he ink cartridge and try to align the cartridge on the printer.

To align Do this

Press setup-->use arror keys to navigate to tools -->and choose the option align cartridge or align printer.

If you do not find the option in the tools option try looking for it in the print report...

On the computer Go to printer under control panel and right click on the printer and go to print prefernces --> go to the TAB called colors and under color options -->choose print in greyscale--> and under that choose the Black only option. --> hit apply and then hit ok.

Now try printing..!

Hp 2110 won't let me print


You have to change the Print -> Settings -> Preferences

O Print in color (this means color inclufing B&W)
O Print in Black (this means print in black only)
Select the Print in Black
When the printer says replace the color cartridge, just close the window instead of saying Yes or OK.
This is not the official HP trouble shooting solution. But, it often works

Black ink wont print, but color works fine


The black cartridge needs replacing it sounds like. On many printers, that is the only way that you get black.

Threw it in the garbage and ordered another, just saved the ink cartridges.

Replaced empt 3E cartridge. Now it won't print


I had removed and reinstalled the empty 3e cartridge. Sorry for the Confusion. I hadn't put a new 3e cartrige in until today. Them I ran " deep clean" twice. The printer works fine. I still don't understand why the printer wouldn't print color, when I was had set the printer to print in color when my 3e cartridge was empty and all colors including the 6 black showed full.

Prints black on test page, but not when a job is sent to the printer


make all your printer settings to default. If any problem in that simply uninstall & re-install the driver.

 

If still no good, your black cartridge might have dried-up
