if this remote uses 3 digit codes, try the following: 214, 215, 216, 401
if it is 4 digit, try these: 0386 0390 0391 0392 0424 0430 0436 0439 0445 0457 0459 0938 0913 0401 0949

SOURCE: DVD player remote is dead
It's quite possible that something got spilled into the remote. I've had this happen a bunch of times, & the remote goes dead! What I did was to take the remote apart by first separating the two halves with a knife & a lot of patience. The two halves are connected together by little clips of plastic all around the perimeter of the remote. Once you start to pry at it, you'll see little indentations ~1/8" - 1/4" wide, every here & there...these are the clip locations. Try to separate them without breaking them. Once you have the remote apart, there's four parts to it; the two halves that you just fought with, the circuit board, (PCB), & the rubber matt that contains the buttons. What you'll need to do is to clean the PCB thuroughly with rubbing alchohol, making sure to dry it completely. Do the same to the other parts, being carfull not to break anything but at the same time being sure to get them clean! Check that there aren't any broken wires or components, resolder anything that may need it. Once you're sure that everything is connected, clean & dry, reassemble the unit by first placing the rubber matt over the PCB, (line up the buttons & make sure it's in the right orientation. Then press the front cover onto the PCB/matt while holding the whole thing aligned, then put on the back cover & click it all together with the little clips. Be extra carefull that the battery connectors go into their proper slots. You may also want to bend the battery connectors alittle bit, in such a way as to make sure that the battery makes a good contact, don't go crazy, you don't want to break them! Once you have it all back together, put in some fresh batteries & try it out! If it still doesn't work....go buy a universal remote!!! Don't worry....be happy!! Good luck!!!

You can find the remote control codes for different brands
of devices from
If none of the codes work then we have two other solutions:
1. Searching For Your Code
If you have tried all of the set-up codes for your brand of equipment ,or your brand is not listed, and you are still not able to get the unit to respond, try the following procedure to search for your code.
If you don't find a code that works, the remote will flash four times when you reach the end of all the codes for this device type.
Make sure that the remote is pointed at your device during the search, You may have to press this sequences of buttons up to 100 times to search the entire library of codes.
2. Learn the buttons from the original
Line up your original remote and the head-to-head before completing the following steps.
Now you can repeat steps 3 through 5 to learn other functions onto other keys or press and hold SETUP until the Cinema's red light flashes twice to lock in your new feature. (If the red light does not blink twice, stop and repeat steps through 6).
To test the new feature, press and release the device key in which the new feature was learned followed by the key on which the feature was learned

if you have already tried "code search" then you may have to return that remote and get a different name brand of universal remote.
