Thanks.  I actually do have an AGP card although full form.  But I am going to see if I can take off the bracket or do something to see if I can make it fit and work.  However, there is a card in that slot at the moment of which I am not sure.

Your system does have a 4X AGP slot. There are quite a few video cards to choose from. Here is a website of available video cards. I always look at the reviews before purchasing, they are a fairly good indicator of product value and reliability.

Website

When you get a new video card you will need to disable the on board video through the system BIOS at start up.

I hope this helps,

Thanks for using FixYa,

I read in the specifications for this motherboard, that you will need a low-profile AGP card for the small case, but if you have the tower you can use the full form factor. That link I provided does have some low profile video cards if you can't modify yours to work.

    I hope this helps,

    Thanks for using FixYa,

What is the cause of our hard drive constantly making a high pitched humming sound. Dell Optiplex GX150 Pentium 3, 996 mhz, 512 mb

That is likely the sound of a hard drive getting ready to have a mechanical crash from which there is practically no recovery. If I were you, I'd backup everything important off of your drive and don't forget your favorites from your browsers, email if you use email that's not web-based, photos, docs etc and back up your importand info to disks or an external removable drive, and prepare for an impending demise of that drive- especially in light of how old that computer is if that's the original hard drive. Think of it like the sqweak that disk breaks make to warn you that they're almost gone. Better back that drive up soon. I wouldn't wait as it could crash at at any time. Once you've backed up all your filse run scan disk and do a defrag, and virus scan and you'll know better what the situaqtion is with that drive

NVidia full screen crash caused by video card.

I would advise that you try to update the driver software and if this does not solve your problem then you may be experience some hardware problems. This means you may need to replace the card.

DELL OPTIPLEX GX150 Upgrade to Intel Pentium 4

Upgrading to a PIII to a PIV usually requires a new motherboard. Especially with that kind of speed you want to go to. The processor uses a different socket set and requires a different motherboard to absorb twice as much heat as you are putting out of the computer right now (the faster the processor, the more heat is released). Power supply should be around 400 watts as well because you will be needing a different cooling system as well.
