Thermostat problem? 99 GMC savanna cargo 2500 5.0 liter

Engine temp. goes to 210 + on gauge, but will return to normal operating temp if you turn blower to high, but will return to the 210 + as soon as heater blower is turned down. Van has good heat but is getting me worried. Could the thermostat need to be replaced?

Where is the thermostat on 1999 2500 v8 savanna

if you follow the hoses coming off the radiator one of them should go to your water pump and the other should go to your thermostat housing the thermostat should be under the housing. the thermostat housing is usually on the coolant return hose on the engine.

Yes, try a 180 thermostat, with a 195 the fans will not turn on until about 210.

98 Camaro LOW running temp. I just recently purchased an all original, terrific running 98 Camaro Converible with only 86000 miles on it. Everything seems great and I've been driving it for weeks with no...

I would suspect either the temp guage or the coolant temperature sensor being inaccurate. The new thermostat is probably working good, or else you wouldn't have a very warm heater. If you have electric radiator fans, you might check to see if they are running all th time. Electric cooling fans should only come on when the temperature sensor reaches a predetermined coolant temp, or when the a/c or defroster is turned on. If the fan runs all the time, the engine would not reach normal operating temperature.

My temp on my 99 tahoe 5-7 goes from 1/4 to 3/4 when first gets going then rides at 1/4 to 1/2 or 210 why and what is the temp supposed to ride at normally "warmed up"

It shouldn't go above 210. That is where the thermostat is supposed to keep it. More than likely, you need a new thermostat. It sounds like it is sticking closed until it gets hot enough to 'pop' it open. Then it operates normally. Change it before it stays stuck.

Good luck, and I hope this helped!
