Double check that there is power (no joke). Press power button and if you get a response tap F8 many times. If you get a screen then select "Last known good configuration". If you get nothing then it may be time for a shop visit.

Obtain the Windows 7 DVD and licence. Stick it in the DVD drive and restart the Laptop.
It should just start installing. Otherwise you'd need to change the default start item to the DVD player.

Use a computer with Internet access to download the drivers and then copy them to an USB memory stick. You then insert the USB memory stick inti your Compaq and install the drivers.
You can download the device drivers from the Compaq/HP WEBsupport/download page. Make sure you select your model laptop and the Windowsdrivers you require and install them. Click on this link to download thedrivers: -
