A G5RV antenna is a popular ham antenna due to its cost, weight and ease of installation. The G5RV is a really a dipole type, that looks like a "T" with the top of the T as the main radiator consisting of a single conductor main radiator and the bottom of the "T" (also radiating on certain bands) consisting of a 2 conductor 450 - 600 ohm "ladder line" that terminates in a fitting that converts ladder line to a coaxial connector.

One of the most popular configurations is the inverted "V". Depending on the version of the antenna, the main radiator will be either 102, 92 or 51 feet long. The ladder line will be 32, 42 or 16 feet (respectively) in length and will require a coax feed length of 70, 70 or 40 feet minimum (again, respectively) to present the proper range of impedences to your manual or auto tuner (the G5RV REQUIRES an external tuner to present an acceptable SWR or impedence match to your transmitter on all bands).

The inverted V requires a mast as high as you can erect, located as close as centered between support sources (trees, buildings, etc.). Ideally, there should be enough room between the mast and the main radiator supports to allow the main radiators to be fully extended. Also, the ladder line should be able to hang straight down without being coiled on the ground at the base. This means you'd need a 32 ~ 42 foot mast at minimum.

The top of the mast will be needed to be fitted with an anchor or hook that will support the center insulator that provides strain relief, splits the ladder line and allows connection of the ladder line conductors to the single conductor main radiators.

Unroll the antenna on the ground. Connect the center insulator to the top section of the mast by the hook. Install "antenna lead stand offs" every 3, 4 or 5 feet. Secure the ladder line to the stand off to keep it from touching / wrapping around the mast.

Use UV resistance parachute cord to connect to and support the main radiator insulator, and pull the slack from the line, from a point as high off the ground as possible. Do the same to the other radiator, trying to match the height above the ground as the first radiator. Go back and forth between the two radiators (or have a helper - so each can be pulled slowly, and evenly together. Inspect the mast to be sure it is still straight. Loosen or tighten the radiator support lines as needed to allow the mast to stand straight.

Secure all lines, connect and run coax to the connector at end / bottom of the ladder line. and connect the opposite end to your antenna tuner connector labeled "ANT". Connect a short coax cable between the transmitter's "ANT" connector and the tuner's "XMIT" connector.

Set xmit power to 5 - 10 watts, transmit and operate the tuner - or set up your radio to use an external auto tuner. Tune for lowest SWR or reflected power. The internal auto tuner on many radios is only good for correcting up to a 3.0:1 mismatch or SWR. The G5RV will present mismatches far in excess of 3.0:1 on certain frequencies and bands.

It's not easy at all. My company does repairs on PSP, XBox 360, PS3, Wii, and PS2. But we don't touch DS Lites. The following company will do it for you at a reasonable cost:

Also make sure you get an OFFICIAL Nintendo shell case. Some of the aftermarket ones don't fit properly. The following website sells the shells:
