Any idea why on my new sharp 32" lcd tv, all cable channels except 57 & 58 (CNN) work fine, but on these channels the sound goes off and on, like there is a short in the sound. all other tvs and cable work fine in the home. Have reprogammed the channels already.

If you do not have problems with picture and sound on all the other working channels, then the problem you are having with 57 & 58 cannot be a short. The problem you are having is that those channels will not tune in properly through your tuner and this is why you get intermittent sound when they are trying to tune in. The sound tunes in easier than the picture. You said that you have programmed the channels again and I am assuming you are talking about the autoprogramming mode. Try to program those channels individually by deleting them and then readding them. If you cannot do that then you need to take the tv back since it is new or have warranty service look at your tuner and setup your tuner by making adjustments to it directly. Good luck and God bless.

Sharp LC-37DB5U stuck on one channel. Won't respond to anything. Put in a new motherboard and same problem persists. Sound and picture are fine

I could be wrong, but it sounds like the TV hasn't gone through channel setup. You have to do this in order for the TV to "learn" the channels, assuming you are using cable. If you are using cable run channel search in the setup menu and see if that changes anything. Can you change channels by manually entering in the channel # and hitting enter?

I inherited a Sharp LCD 32" flat screen TV that's only about 2.5 years old. It worked fine at its previous location. Upon bringing it to my house, I've tried disconnecting the cable from my TV &...

Try going into your setup menu. Look for a setting for "Cable/Air". Try switching it to Cable and then doing a channel search. If you are using a cable box try setting channel to 3 on tv. Those are the two easiest things I can think of off the top of my head without seeing it.

Unplug TV set from the outlet, wait 30 seconds, plug it back in, select right input with your remote if you using cable box or Punch the channel that you want to watch if you have cable service connected directly to the TV.

TWO CHANNELS (CABLE) SOUND NOT WORKING

Try turning off the tv and unplugging it for one minute, if that doesnt resolve the issue, look into gettnig a converter box, or a signal booster to help. The tuner's in those SB model sharp televisions are not worth a penny and they need a very strong signal to be able to interpret all of your stations without problems. good luck 2 u
