Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I have an acer aspire 5738 and windows 7...my problem is that my microphone doesn't work..i can listen to music and staff but i can't record my voice or speak with my friends on msn. This happend...

I assume you made sure that the mic is not on mute. Click on your audio icon and double check. If not I would update the chipset driver. I have attached a link to all the drivers for your Acer. Just select the correct version of Windows 7. Thanks for using FixYa

I can't get any sound out of my speakers

Hi,

Where are these speakers hooked up to, computer ??

If so, open device manager (Click start - run - type devmgmt.msc) - expand sound video and game controllers - right click on all the submenus and uninstall them one by one(Which gives you uninstall option) - close the window.
Restart PC and notice results.
Awaiting response.
Thanks

Microphone hissing sound

That sounds alot like the microphone booster in control panel. Depending on what version of windows your are using, you can just open the sound control from the taskbar and go to the advanced settings and uncheck the setting "microphone booster". Adjust microhpone volume accordingly.

Microphone problems

Go to your control panel in windows, you can get there from the start menu no matter what version you are on.

In the control panel, double click on Sound. In the new window, click on file and settings... or advanced I cant remember exactly which as I am using vista. There you should be able to select "Recording". Click ok.

Now you should be able to see where it says microphone, with a volume bar and so on. Put a check in the "Mute" box. This will not completely mute the microphone, it should only make it to where you will no longer hear it on your speakers.

Try talking to your friends now... It should work! I hope this helped to fix your problem, if not, let me know and we can try something else.

Windows closing slow means you have a bunch of program that are running in the back ground. Windows has to close each before the system can shut down. To see just what is running in the back ground. Allow windows to completly finish opening. Click the start button, click run. In the window type, msconfig & click ok. System Configuration Utility window will open. Click on the Startup tab. Now you can see just what programs are running in the back ground.
Adding memory can also help speed up a slow pc & keeping the system clean by using the two programs listed next.
First. Run disk cleanup, a windows program found in system tools. Than run Defrag also found in system tools. Restart the pc when finished. This should help your system to run a bit better.
If you have the CD that came with the sound card uninstall the software through Add/ Remove programs found in the control panel. Restart the pc. Reinstall the drivers from the CD & try opening a few programs. Open & run the program your using to play music. Any better? If not try using another music program like iTunes a free download found here. http://www.apple.com/itunes/
You can also try the drivers from creative they may be newer than your CD here: http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/welcome.asp?action=next
Enjoy!
