Once you connect the S-Video to a monitor, go into your display properties, usually right click on the desktop and select properties and then select display properties. under the monitor tab right click on the Monitor #2 and select attached. This should now show up on your external monitor.

2 Suggestions:-
1) Did you tried to connect External Monitor? Tell me the status
2) Remove all Power Adapters and battery. Push the Power Button for 15seconds. Again Connected the battery and Power Adapter. Check if its working or not. If not then Must be Motherboard Problem.

Laptop turns on but screen doesn't show

Shine a flashlight on the dark screen to see if you barelysee the icons on the desktop. If so, then the LCD Inverter is bad.

Plug in an external monitor and see if the display shows up on it. It can beany kind of monitor even the old big fat crt monitors as long as it has a vgacable to connect to your computer's vga port. If so that proves yourvideo card is ok. The video will show on most systems when you rebootwithout you having to do anything. Some systems will require you to hit the FN(Function key) + F1 thru F12. Hold down the FN key then hit the correctkey for displaying on the monitor (F1 thru F12). The correct key willnormally have CRT/LCD on it or it will have the icon of a display.

If you see no icons by shinning a flash light and the external monitor works, then your screen is bad. If you see no icons by shinning the flash lightand nothing shows on the external monitor, then most likely your video card isbad.

Does it seem like the laptop booted up all the way except the screen is black? If so try the steps below:

Screen do not on

Does the screen show anything at all during boot-up (BIOS screen, startup info?) If so, try connecting an external monitor after startup and see if the issues persist when setting the video output to the external monitor. If that doesn't work try booting in safe mode to last known configuration that worked (usually done by hitting F2, F5, or F8 shortly after powering on.

This doesn't sound like a video problem, it sounds to me like your screen might be bad. Try plugging an external monitor to the laptop to verify that the video card is ok. It can be any kind of monitor, even the old fat crt type just as long as it has a vga cable that will plug into the vga port on the laptop. Once you have it plugged in, hit the FN (Function Key) + (F1 thru F12) key to get the image on the external monitor. You will have to hold the FN key then press the F1 thru F12 key that corresponds to showing the image on an external. The correct key to press might say crt/lcd or it might show the image of a display. If the image shows, that means your video card is ok and the problem is your screen. I just worked on this model and the person's warranty ran out in Nov 2011. He called HP and they wanted $300. I took his lcd screen apart and the problem was the LCD Cable had come aloose. Needless to say, I saved him hundreds of dollars. http://www.generalsystemsconsulting.com

Product does not boot.nothing shows when i try to boot the product.

Make sure that the AC adapter is actually putting out voltage (and the appropriate amount) by connecting the AC adapter to a compatible and known working laptop, or by using a voltage meter. If the AC adapter is good, then make are any lights coming on when you try to turn on the computer? If so, make sure that the computer isn't just sending its video signal out of the port used to connect to an external monitor. Test this by connecting an external monitor or by pressing the fn key and whichever F key represents the toggle to external monitor function. If you are on Windows 7, press the windows key and the p key at the same time. Then, after letting go of both of those keys, use the left-arrow key and then hit enter. If there are no lights at all when you press power, remove the battery, make sure that the AC adapter is plugged in, and then try to turn it on. Sometimes a battery can be so bad that it prevents the AC adapter from properly powering the laptop at all.If none of this works, sounds like you have a hardware failure inside the laptop (could be the video adapter, the power button, or some other motherboard component).

Hi how can i connect from my pc's s-video socket to a projector which has a jack socket? I have all the right cables I've been told to press fn f4 but my pc doesn't have fn

If it's a laptop, they've usually got a vga connector on the rear panel which you can use to connect to an external monitor...or a projector if it's got the same (vga) connector. If your projector only has a jack socket, then that's not a standard connector for a video input and maybe you should consult your projector's user guide for clarification of the connectors (are you sure your jack socket isn't actually a phono or RCA socket? if it is, then your laptop video output signal probably isn't compatible with the projector as there's no way to make s-video output feed anything other than a s-video input (different signal levels and standards) Regards, nicam49

As soon as it come on it shutdown and lcd is dark but you still can see in dark lcd

It doesn't sound like the system is shutting down. It sounds more like the LCD display back-light isn't working. Try connecting an external monitor to you system and booting it up. You may find that the external monitor has video. You may also toggle through the three state video selections. Hold down Fn and tap F7. this should take you through all three steps. Good luck.

If this was helpful Please rate the solution high. thanks.

Gateway 3522GZ display

Some searching on forums convinced me the inverter had failed. Picked one up for $65, removed the frame around the screen, removed the mounting screw for the inverter, and unplugged both ends of the old and plugged in the new. Put it back togeher and fired it up, bright again. Key here was that a remote monitor still worked which meant video card was OK. The lamp could have been bad, but apparently the life of lamps is pretty decent.
