hope it is not too late but have had the same problem, just got around to open up the case and found the problem and was able to fix mine and now it plays fine. My problem was with the cd turn table it was not be feeding the cd into the player causing the m-error..

I have a fisher tad 9925 and no sound. I hooked up multiple speakers from another system with this unit and blew my output board. Need help on where I can purchase a replacement board?

Fisher tad m70 10 disc cd player compact disc searches and won't play a disc, no disc found

I have that same model bought new in 1993. Once I had the same problem - I used one of those CD cleaning disc left it unplugged for a few hours and then it worked. But if the laser needs alignment - then it needs to be re-aligned/serviced by a tech.
