Question about Dryers
Dryer was running. I opened the door and added a pair of gloves, closed the door, pushed the start button. Dryer made the usual, initial humming sound like it was going to start but didn't. I tried to start several times and each time I got the same humming sound like the motor was trying to start. I finally tried rotating the drum slightly to make sure it wasn't stuck and then when I pushed the button, I got no sound at all. I checked the ciruit breaker and it wasn't tripped so I know the dryer is getting current.
Sounds like the start windings in the motor have failed you will need a new motor to repair this.
