Windows vista does not seem to recognize HP 4P printer

Man, this one could be rough. I am usually pretty good about hunting down drivers and I cannot find one for Vista at all.

Have you tried the XP driver from the following location:

I have used XP drivers in Vista in the past and have had some luck. Probably about 50/50.

This is the most common problem for people who using windows vista. go to your printers manufacturing website for latest drivers compatible for vista.

check the Hp website, they should have drivers that support Vista.

Ok you should try being logged onto the admin account, having admin rights is not the same as being logged on to the admin account.

Most problems with Vista seem to be easily over ridden by being logged on to the Admin account.
