Sub+amp configuration I have a kicker C18 a, with 4 ohms. All i need to know is what kind of amp i can use. 1.How many RMS watts i need minimum. 2.Since it has 4 ohms does that make a difference in the kind of amp i buy, and if it does what kind do i need.

With a single 4-ohm subwoofer, usually the best choice is a 2-channel amp that can be bridged to a single channel. In your case, the sub is rated for 1000 watts. Not many amps are rated for that kind of continuous power into a 4-ohm load. Kicker doesn't list a minimum power rating, which isn't unusual in subwoofer specs. Depending on your budget, I'd look for an amp rated for 300-500 watts minimum; the higher, the better, up to 1000 watts. Most amps will have several power ratings, based on the load impedance and number of channels driven. A typical 2-channel amp might be rated like this: 150 watts x 2 channels at 4 ohms 300 watts x 2 channels at 2 ohms 500 watts x 1 channel at 4 ohms. The power rating you'll want to look at will be the 1-channel, 4-ohm rating. You can look at mono amps, too, but in the power ranges you're looking for, a 2-channel amp will probably give you the best value. However, if you can find a mono amp with a high enough 4-ohm power rating, it would run cooler and might last longer than a 2-channel amp with comparable power. When looking at mono amps, you'll find their highest power output will be at 2 ohms or 1 ohm; make sure you're checking the 4-ohm rating when making comparisons. I have a kicker 10 comp d dvc 4 ohm 600 watt. How do I run a obcon 2000i 2 channel amp to it

You can't. Total mismatch of power and impedance.

You need a mono amp that can push the RMS watts of the sub @ 2 ohm (sub wired parallel).

Kicker 12L5 blew from a kicker zx750.1

MY BEST GUESS FROM WHAT YOU HAVE SAID IS THAT THE BOX WAS TO SMALL. BUT YOU ARE OVERPOWERING THE SUB RUNNING IT AT 2 OHMS ON A 750 WATT AMP WITH A SUB THAT IS ONLY RATED FOR 600. NO MATTER HOW FAR YOU TURN YOUR SETTINGS DOWN, YOUR STILL PUSHING TO MUCH POWER FOR THE SUB TO HANDLE. IT IS ONLY RATED 600 WATTS FOR A REASON. ESPECIALLY IF YOU LISTEN TO MUSIC THAT HAS A REAL LOW END AND THEN A HARD HIT. REMEMBER A HARD HIT WILL SPIKE YOUR AMPS OUTPUT THEREFORE PUSHING MORE WATTAGE TO THE SUB.

Can I hook up 2 lanzar opti1532 subs 2 a kicker kx 1200.1 or do I need a bigger amp, its a 1ohm stable amp an birth sheet says 1390watts but they told me at 14+ volts it will do 1400rms

Based solely on spec sheet information the Lanzars can handle 1300 watts RMS and the KX1200 is rated at 300x1 @ 4 ohms, 600x1 @ 2 ohms, & 1200x1 @ 1 ohm. Even with a 1 ohm load you will still only be providing 600 watts to each sub. While the kicker will provide more power at 14+ volts, no car creates more than 12-13 volts via its alternator. A car battery only provides 12.6 volts. So you will be loking at 1200 watts from 1 channel as a best case scenario.

Additionally, with your 2 subs, they will need to both be Dual 4 ohm voice coils in order to net a 1 ohm final load. Each voice coil will need to be wired in parallel and then each speaker needs to be wired in parallel.

I want a reliable system.

if you bought that equipment today then your answer is yes your amp will power the subs but if i was you and you want more bass I would go with a two channel amp or even a mono block amp that will be 1 ohm stable and if you decide to do that you might want to get subs that are dual 4 ohm voice coils and run them in series that will get you 1 ohm of resistance

Try to install 3 12w3d6 subwoofers connecting 3 sub together to put them in box

You need to wire them according to the limitations of your amp you can pull a 1 ohm overall load just by connecting all of your coils in parallel- or you can get an overall load of 4 ohms by wiring each sub individually in a series configuration which will yield a 12 ohm load per sub -and then wire the 3 sets in parallel which will bring your ohms back down to 4. You can do a lot with that many coils it depends on your amp really-ideally a 1 ohm stable class d mono amp that is 1000-1500 watts rms would knock the **** outta those things JL is the good stuff.

How to order

The L7 I have is brand new in the box (not a speaker box just the retail packaging box) and the rms is 750 watts RMS and 1500 watts peak, but you are correct they blow easy when you push rated power to them, the hifonics subs will take 1200 watts rms all day long and over 3500 peak for burping at competitions, i run mine at 2000 watts everyday in a daily driver. if you hook 1 dual 4 ohm sub to a zx1000.1 it will be 2 ohm load on the amp so you will get 1000 watts to the sub so if you want to run it slightly underpowered to keep it from blowing use the 750.1 per sub, i can do those at about 250 each shipped

the price is 150 plus 10$ flat rate USPS shipping and yes I accept paypal Wyattconnolly@msn.com .

the warranty starts the day you buy it for 12 months but kicker will not cover burned or blown voice coils, that is why i recommended the hifonics (which is what i use to compete with now) because they put out better quality sound and alot more of it and they will take alot of abuse, if you want boxed speakers ready to go in kicker brand ported boxes I can have them drop shipped right to your door as well, the only reason i am selling the 1 L7 i have so cheap is because a customer ordered it then never paid for it so I am selling it at cost. be careful if you are buying on ebay as you have no warranty at all and you cant force the seller to give you 1 even if they say it has 1. because authorized dealers are not allowed to do internet sales at all so kicker and most other companies will not honor the warranties.

also you dont need 2 amps you can use 1 bigger amp and still run 2 subs just by changing how you wire the subs at the amp. 1 large amp costs less than 2 smaller 1's usually just not with kicker brand

2006 12" Kicker L7 4 ohm

first whats the range in terms of WATTS that your 12" sub can handle in 4 OHMS ? second , lets check the AMP , POWER ACOUSTIK 1800 WATTS , Now thats a lot of power to drive a single 12" sub speaker . your amp is 1800 watts , per channel is around 500 watts , if BRIDGE thats around 1600 watts rms for ONE channel , if your sub can handle that kind of wattage fine , but it will not blow the amp , what it does is shuts down , some kind of protection mode , it will come back on after a minute or so. I suggest to use one channel in stereo mode , or purchase another sub to use the other channel. i hope this helps AJ
