I am trying to change the belt on Hotpoint WF430 washing machine. Have tried everything but it is just too tight, any tips please

my husband is currently cursing at my WF250 trying to change the belt.  I guess the manufacturers never expected them to go.  Is there a tensioning bolt anywhere?

Put it on the motor spindle first then feed it onto pulley. It is tricky with such limited access.
Hope this helps &thanks for using Fixya.

I have a Hotpoint Aquarius WF430 and the drum is not turning. How do I remove the top to see if the belt has come off?

If there are no screws along the rear of the top, try inserting a thin putty knife into the front corners to release a spring lock--push straight back. The top is usually hinged at the back, so you will need something to prop it up. Hope this helps!

Replace belt on Hotpoint Aquarius WM31 washing

Hi.
Remove top cover of washer.
Remove rear access panel.
Slacken off the motor fixing bolts, and pull motor towards drum top.
Fit belt round motor pulley first, and then feed it round the drum pulley from the rear of the washer.
Tighten motor bolts just enough to hold motor steady, and pull motor towardsa cabinet side to tension belt, it needs to be farly tight.
Then tighten motor bolts securely.
Fit back top and rear covers.

How to fit a belt to a hotpoint aquarius when the back cannot be removed

If there is a small inspection panel at the back where you can get to the motor remove that then remove the top lid of the machine. Loosen motor mounts and swing motor up and remove belt from motor. Now remove belt from pulley from the top of machine. Reverse the order starting from the top to replace belt.

Fitting a new drive belt to a hotpoint aquarius

Remove lower rear panel, tilt washer forward, getting someone to help, and fit belt round motor pulley, then fit belt round drum pulley, slowly turning the drum pulley round as you feed the belt on, it is very tight, and you might think the belt is to small, but this is normal, as the belt stretches, just persist, but be careful you do not trap your fingers. Good luck.
Please rate my solution.
TRhanks.

The motor does not have provision for belt adjostment, it is self tensioning
To gain access to the brushes, you need to remove the motor from the washer.
Remove rear panel, remove belt, unplug motor lead, taking note which way the plug goes, undo screws securing motor, and lever motor back with a screw driver, remove motor and change brushes.

How to remove top panel and front facia on a Hotpoint Aquarius WDF451 washing machine

Un plug it. There should be small screws either at the bottom of the panel on the front or there is separate panel that comes off the top back. If the back is one solid piece top to bottom, then the control panel lifts out and hinges up when the two small cross tip screws are removed from the bottom outside corners of the control panel..

Check your drain pipe behind. This is supposed to be approx 3 feet above ground level; then the hose goes into the stand-pipe without being too tight. If this does not work, click "thanks for trying"; your prob will be back for someone else to solve.
