Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

To make your Miele work properly, a general maintenance will do the trick. Most of the time cleaning the filters, checking for blockages and clearing the passageways will eliminate the noise. Please refer to your User's Manual on how you can do this.

You can purchase a wide variety of high quality Miele replacement parts for your Miele Vacuum direct from Think Crucial with free shipping and an exclusive 10% coupon for Fixya.com readers, use code: FIXYA10

I've replaced the bag, but the machine will not pick up dirt; there is no suction.

Hey, this is Jeremy with Crucial Vacuum,

I am sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Miele Vacuum. There are a few things you can check to restore suction to your vacuum.

1. Your suction setting is too low or the automatic setting is not registering properly.

2. The filters are too clogged. They need to be cleaned or replaced. Without proper air flow, your vacuum will have either decreased or no suction.

3. Vacuum hose is not air tight. If the hose or any other portion of your vacuum is leaking air it will diminish or completely abolish all suction.

4. The roller is clogged. If everything else has failed, flip over your vacuum and check the roller. If it is too clogged with hair and debris your vacuum will not be able to pick anything up. Simply remove the gunk and try starting up your vacuum again.

My S7580 vacuum cleaner is very noisy

Hey, this is Jeremy with Crucial Vacuum,

To remedy a noisy vacuum cleaner there are typically four main areas to check to restore proper functionality. By following the steps below it should be back to normal in no time!

1. Dirty Filters- If your vacuum has suddenly become very loud, check the filter, as it may be dirty. When the filters on a vacuum become excessively dirty, the vacuum may start running louder because it is working hard to create suction. If your filters are dirty, your vacuum is likely not suctioning appropriately, either. To fix this problem, simply remove the filters in your vacuum, rid them of the dust and debris and rinse them out with warm water.

2. Clog- Clogs are often the reason as to why your vacuum cleaner is being extra noisy. While vacuuming, something may get sucked up such as a button or a small toy, for example. Additionally, the clog may be making the vacuum work harder. Check all tubes and hoses in the vacuum to make sure there are no obstructions.

3. Broken Brush Bearing- When a brush bearing breaks, the vacuum cleaner gets loud and starts to vibrate. To remedy the problem, remove the brush and replace it

4. Broken Fan- The fan in the motor of your vacuum may be broken, causing the vacuum to run louder than normal. When dirt runs through the motor of the vacuum, it can collect on the fan, causing it to break. If the fan in your vacuum motor is broken, it will need to be replaced. This is a slightly more tricky process and may require you to bring in your vacuum to a repair shop to have the part replaced.

My dyson d14 animal keeps cutting in and out. When it's on, the hole above where the filter is, keeps making a loud suction noise and it won't clean up hair and dirt.

Vacuum Cleaners require AIr-Flow. Your machine is not getting any air-flow. The noise you hear is a valve opening up to prevent your machine from overheating and burning out the motor.
You probably have an obstruction somewhere in the machine. Dysons are kind of known for that in the vacuum cleaner world.
Check all air channels and clean them out. If that fixes the problem you still might have issues that caused it to clog up.

I posted the part second because it takes 24 hours to complete it.
Be sure you wash your Washable Pre-filter. It needs to dry for 24 hours. Never put it back in the machine wet.

Once it is completely dry reinstall the pre-filter and your machine should be back to normal operating functions.

Let me know f this helps.

Miele canister keeps shutting off when i press + it starts again for short while and off again whats problem i have changed bar but still no good

Was it hot when you pressed "+" button? Did you check the filters(Hepa) or bag if clogged or suction path was blocked? Does it happen after it was cool down? From what you said, it seems none of the above. Only thing I can think of is circuit board. The mortor runs in variable speed. "+" increase the average voltage to the motor thus higher suction. PWM circuit in main pcb may not working correctly.

High priced vacuum cleaner like this shouldn't fail like this but it does. JMO.

My Miele capricorn has started making an odd noise. It seems like something is blocking the engine. I've turned if off and on, and reset it and it still have the odd, almost loud barking noise. The power...

Greetings,

This is a major problem. The Miele vacuums motor should never make a loud noise, period. The way the motor is designed, it's quiet and should be quiet for the life of the motor. There are two motors on your Miele canister. One of the motors controls only the suction of the vacuum, while the other motor controls the power brush. Which one of your motors is making this horrible noise? You can tell this by removing the wands and power brush so that you just have the handle of the hose by itself. Now turn on the vacuum, do you still hear this noise? If yes, then this is a problem with your suction motor, and you need to bring this in to have an authorized Miele repair center take a look at it. The reason I say that is because you have a 7 year warranty on that suction motor, so if something is wrong with that motor, then this will be covered under Miele warranty. If it's the power brush motor that's causing the sound, this probably will not be covered unless the vacuum is under 1 year old. If it is the power brush, please just use the clarificaiton request here on Fixya and let me know, I'd be more then happy to try and walk you through diagnosing the power brush motor with you.

I hope this was helpful to you. If you did find this helpful, please be sure to click the thumbs up icon in the repair. I really appreciate it.
