Question about HP PSC 2210 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Problems My HP PSC 2210 all-in-one was working great, and I love it until today. I tried scanning and the icon would not work, I tried from the start button, nothing happened when I clicked. I tried to print and get the message "scanner failure" "turn off then on again". I did that and nothing happens. I now have the message again on and the buttons "copy", "scan", "fax" and "photo card" are all flashing. Someone please help me!!!

    Thank you Jackboy. This is very useful information although I already did that, the problem is half solved. I can print, but any attempt to use the scanner creates the original probem. The same note flashes with the buttons and I still cannot use the icon.

    Any other suggestion?

    Yes, I used the scanner directly and through the computer. It worked great until now. I will try your last suggestion. I have tried HP tech. help. I can try them again.

    Thank you all for your help. I disconnected the printer and unstalled the printer software, then reinstalled and connected. This solved the problem.

    I appreciate all the help.

Switch the unit. let it rest for half an hour. While it is resting check the manual for any 'faults' list. Look for a 'reset' command - may be mean pressing several buttons while the machine is off and then with the buttons still pressed switch on the machine[you may need two hands and a nose or three hands for this ;-)] If still out of luck go to places for further info HP technical support team or www,

    This beginning to show ominous signs - like the scanner has died.
    I assume you are talking about using the scanner direct ?
    Have you ever used the scanner through the computer - via an Image editor or the Windows camera and scanner utility?

    You use the scanner directly - is this still the case?
    Is it only through the computer the trouble comes?

    have you by chance changed over to Vista?
    There are issues with drivers and software with certain devices with this operating system

How do i use my scanner for hp psc 2210 series.... I trying to scan something. I have pushed the scan botton on the printer. And i can't scan anything.....

The reason may be that the software is not installed properly. Did you try to scan from computer?

From computer you can try from Hp Director/ HP Solution Center or from scanner and camera wizard.

sometime need to open program then scan.. or open the my computer then you well see the scaner icon just open it then scan or view the scan to capture the save it to the folder you to save the data

How do I get the scanner in my HP Psc 1315 to work

You can scan with out any HP software also using the below steps.
Make sure that the printer is connected to the computer perform the following steps;

Steps for scanning in Windows XP: 1. Click the Start (Windows) icon.
2. Click All Programs.
3. Click Accessories.
4. Click Paint.
5. Click File and then click From Scanner or Camera.
6. Click Scan.
Steps for scanning in Windows vista:

1.Click the Start (Windows) icon.
2. Click All Programs.
3. Click Windows Photo Gallery.
4. Click File and then click Import From Scanner or Camera.
5. Click Import.
6. Click Scan.

Can't get scanner to work

Try oprning up Windows Photo Gallery, then File tab at top, then click on Import from Scanner or Camera.

The HP should come up as an option, so click on it.

I found that with upgrade to Vista, the actual SCAN button on the HP 2210 did not work -- but this back door through Photo Gallery lets me scan and import the scan as a jpg file.

Trying to scan a picture

if your using the "scan" button on the panel of the computer it wont work, in order for the button to work you need to install the software.

if your trying to scan from the pc and you cant scan, try these:
1. right click on the solution center icon on your desktop
2. go to properties
3. click on open file location
4. search for hpscnvw.exe
5. right click on that application then send to desktop
6. now when it is on your desktop, use and click on that icon everytime you want to scan

PSC 2210 Scanner Doesn't Work

I'm not sure about this specific model, but I've had similar problems with other HP all-in-ones and usually what fixes it is uninstalling and reinstalling the software (make sure to follow their directions properly and not plug the printer in until they tell you to). You should also make sure you're using the most updated software from the HP website rather than the one that came on the CD with the printer which may be outdated.

I can't scan

This document applies to the PSC 2210, PSC 2210v, and PSC 2210x. When you see the scanner failure message, turn off the PSC 2210. Wait a few seconds and then turn on the PSC 2210. If you see the message again, please contact HP Support.
