Twice in the last 24 hours my Sony has shut down with no ability to turn it back on. I tried switching AC outlets to no avail. I finally pulled the cord completely and went to get my multimeter to do some troubleshooting only to find the battery dead. As I went back to the tv and connected the cord I heard a click in the tv and it started working again. I then watched tv for about 2 hours and fell asleep. When I awoke the tv was turned off again. It remained off overnight and I was unable to turn it on in the morning. I then disconnected the cord for about 5 minutes and reconnected it. The tv turned on again. This tv is only 7 months old. What is going on?
If your tv unit is still under warranty, first you better bring it back again to the store you just bought it for warranty purposes, your tv has an internal problem, maybe manufacturer defect. Usually the cause of that is a shorted electronics component, say for ex, a mosfet transistor that is located at the power section, or maybe a capacitor that is leaky, and also an open resistor. if you don't know how to troubleshoot this problem, you better have your tv unit repaired by a professional tv technician.
Good luck
