No matter how many times I've restarted the game from the previous overwritten file, the screen freezes at the same spot during the animation. I have solved 123 puzzles. It looks like a bug. Any idea how to get rid of it? Thanks in advance!

Hi! I've just finishing dealing with this on my Go720. Symptoms - freezes during startup and can not turn off. Tried resetting - but this only turns the unit off. When it tries to restart it still freezes during startup sequence. So - connected to PC and ran TomTom HOME2. I had backed the unit up only a few month previous, so I tried to do this. However, it threw an error on this procedure. I then thought that perhaps I could erase the memory contents and reinstall the contents of my backup folder. However, playing safe, I first wanted to do a dump of all my files on the units internal memory. Halfway through this I had an error message saying that one file was corrupt and could not be read. The file was clmdata. So ... after more researching the web I read that the file clmdata has been blamed for this freezing problem. I examined my Go720 internal memory and tried to overwrite the corrupt clmdata with the one from my backup set. That failed as the file was corrupt. In windows explorer then deleted the clmdata file but all this did was generate a file of 0 bytes with the original name. However, I now tried again to restore the unit with TomTom HOME, and this time it worked. Unit is fine now! From what I've read, you may not need to use the restore function, but just delete (or try to delete) the clmdata file, and the unit recreates it when it restarts. Best of luck! Jeremy
The only thing I can think of is that the disc is scratched but you only played it once so I dont see how that could be the problem. Try seeing if there is any patches for the game or the system and go from there.
Please restart your computer and keep tapping F8 key, you should see a screen which while give you options to choose like normal mode, safe mode etc. In that screen please use your up and down arrow key to choose last known good configuration and hit enter.
This should take your computer back to the previous settings when your computer is working fine.
Note: if you have allready tried to go to safe and were able to go to safe mode then do not choose this method.
If you can go to safe mode use system restore (steps vary from windows version to version). Restore you computer's settings to a previous setting (Steps for XP - Start - Programs (or all programs) accessores - system tools and click on system restore and follow the onscreen instructions to restore your computer settings to a day or 2 previous to installig the new software.
Note: this system restore does not destroy your data (your pictures and files) but you will loose the new softwares installed between today and the day you choose.
You could try booting up in safe mode by pressing F8 if you haven't already. OR, if you have the Windows operating system disc, you might try to boot off of that, or a system recovery disc. You may lose a few files, but hopefully that will get you up and running. Hope this helps!
After a lot of frustrated searching for a response, have sussed the resetting.
When you tap the dog to launch the game, immediately hold down the XYAB buttons and the Left and Right ones (WHICH I HAVE FINALLY REALISED ARE NOT THE EXTREMETIES OF THE CROSS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DS SCREEN) but are on the outside top of the whole console on either side of where you put the card in.
Almost immediately the screen will say, do you want to delete the previous play, are you sure, really really sure, and then it thinks about it for a good while and then it is reset.
We still think the main problem of not being able to actually name a dog will continue, but at least we have reset it.
look on Sonys website for patches et,c.
Sometimes they launch games, and realise that theres glitches.
they then create patch-files which you can usually download, to update your console.
if this does,nt work. then you,ve possibly got a faulty game.
