Does a Ethernet Switch(Unmanaged) have a default IP address?

There is a user guide on the tp-link web site. It looks as if this is just a layer-2 switch (ethernet) and there is no user configuration to enter. The IP addresses would come from another device on your LAN. A router or a server that supports layer-3 (IP) would issue addresses by running a DHCP server process on it.

The driver might be on the disc supplied by your ISP internet service provider
or the motherboard disc

Reinstalled vista and now my Internet won't work pc keeps saying plug cable to local and I have all plugs plugged in please assist

Ensure that you have the correct drivers loaded for your ethernet adapter. To do this go to the device manager.
  1. Click on Start and then Control Panel.
  2. Click on the System and Maintenance link.
Note: If you're viewing the Classic View of Control Panel, you won't see this link. Simply double-click on the Device Manager icon and then proceed to Step 4.
  3. In the System and Maintenance window, click on the Device Manager link near the bottom of the window.
Once you're there, check for any signs of a Question mark (?) or a yellow yeild sign with an exclamation point (!) beside it. It is likely that the correct ethernet controller driver is not loaded. If there is such a problem, search for a driver on the web that suits your ethernet controller, download it, and install it. If you need help with this, post back...I'll be glad to help.

Regards,

DP
