Question about Maytag MFI2568AES Stainless Steel Bottom Freezer French Door Refrigerator
Working fine yesterday, now not cooling. Vacuumed LOTS of dust from coils underneath. Still nothing. Fan running. Compressor vibrating (I assume it's working). Unplugged for about 10 minutes, still no cooling from freezer or fridge. Any thing I can check/replace?
Replace the ptc overload/relay on the side of the compressor this aids in starting and running of the compressor

you need to replace the start components on the compressor, theres a relay that mounts on to the compressor that takes out the start winding after it starts the compressor up. You can also try whats called a three in one to try to start up the unit. Good Luck.

You have one of two problems going on. Your fan is spinning at hitting the sides. Or your compressor is shot which seems to be more the problem and even though it is cold the humming sound is a warning for you that the compressor is shot and it is more affordable to replace the fridge then the compressor. Sometimes compressor can cost more then the fridge.

SOURCE: FRIDGE NOT COOLING
The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper)
between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through
it. There is a flap you adjust with the
fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the
fridge temp ..
Your damper and controls are on this diagram. http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getSubComp.pd?modelNumber=MFD2560HES&productCategoryId=0161000&brandId=3048&modelName=MAYTAG-REFRIGERATION&diagramPageId=00006&componentDescription=CONTROLS&documentId=M0412077&backToLink=Return%20to%20Sub%20Components%20list
