Question about Sony VAIO F2 Series VPCF237FX/B 16.4-Inch Laptop Matte Black
I have removed all the screws on the bottom but somehow cannot get the back shell off. I am afraid of using force to pry things open because I don't want to damage the internals.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

the fan is screwed together with the motherboard, the only way i figured is to separate it is completely unscrew the motherboard, cd drives.....then unscrew the fan from the bottom side of the motherboard....
i took the fan out just today, wantted to add some lubricating oil to it, but then can't manage to separate the blades & expose the centre
how much did the replacement fan cost? i am in canada, not even sure sony stores here have it.

On a Sony, many times the power socket is a separate piece that can be replaced. Unlike many laptop motherboards, these power sockets are a separate item the plug into the motherboard. \
Bad news is you have to dissassemble the computer to get at it.
