Question about Kroy K 4350 Printer

K4350 300dpi, Windows 7, Bartender 8.01 build 2160, USB to Serial Converter, COM3 9600,8,n,1, Flow Control - any setting. 7/16" flat (1/4"dia.) Heat Shrink. After I print a label, the printer beeps an

I have to toggle power to print another... I've played with serial port settings and nothing seems to help. Not sure which brand the USB to RS-232 converter is. It's a semi-opaque bluish green molded plastic with white semi-opaque plastic thumb screws, if that helps. The printer prints labels on Heat Shrink fine, just one at a time due to the errors. Major hassle and not conducive to light duty production line I'm trying to set this up for. Any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thank you for the replies. Setting the document properties button to "Continuous" solved the problem.

Your Bartender software is probably set to print individual labels with a gap between them. Reset the software (document properties button) to Continuous label supply, and it should work. SOURCE: Need help with Kroy K4350 Printer.

It's definitely a fried pixel on the print head. There are several causes.

1) Running the print head too hot (i.e. at max heat).
2) re-using the ribbon can place dirt and/or static at the printhead.
3) Using un-flattened heat shrink will also cause premature failure of the printhead.

We have been selling the K4350 for a few years and always tell customers to use tubing that's as flat as possible. We specialize in printing on heat shrink, so feel free to call us. We'll even buy back your Kroy printer if you want to upgrade to a higher output printer

My computer that has PSW2.0 crashed. It had Windows XP. I have a new HP computer with Windows 7. What do I have to do to make it work on my new computer?

From Singerco.com FAQs: Q. My computer only has USB ports. Can you recommend a Serial (nine pin) to USB converter cable that will work with the Professional Sew Ware™ 2.00a? A. We have found that the PSW works best on newer computers when the USB serial adapter cable has not only compatible drivers for the Windows operating system but also a FTDI chip. We have found this FTDI chip in the cable which is listed below:
CUSB-232A available from Computerplug.com and Cablesalesusa.com.
Any USB to serial adapter with an FTDI chip will work. These cables will work for Windows XP, VISTA, and 7.

Installed usb to db26F converter to use printer

Ok reinstall as Administrator, use "Compatibility mode" for install and the run .exe, also run software as Administrator. too. Often these devices, USB - Serial Ports are NO GOOD for a printer. Either install a real Serial Port. or get a new printer. Windows 7 will NOT help either, it doesn't like older equipment.

SiPix Pocket A6 Printer Windows Vista Driver.

SiPix never had a Vista driver. Most new computers, like mine, do not have serial ports. Here is how I got my A6 working with Vista --

1. Purchase a serial to USB converter cable. (I got mine on Ebay for about $4.00.) Plug one end into the serial cable that came with the A6 and the other end into a USB port on the computer. Vista automatically picked up and installed the converter cable. In Device Manager, it shows up under Ports and gives it a com port number. Right click on the device and click on Properties. Click on the Port Settings tab and change Bits Per Second to 115200, Data Bits to 8, Parity to None, Stop Bits to 2, and Flow Control to Hardware per your A6 Owner's Manual. Click OK.

2. Now go to Printers in the Control Panel. Click to add a printer. Follow on screen prompts. Whe asked what port the printer is on, highlight whatever port the USB converter cable was assigned to. (In my case, Com 4.) When asked for the driver, direct it to the CD Drive where you have the A6 driver disk. Direct it to the Windows 2000 driver. If you try to use the XP driver, it will tell you it is the wrong OS. The 2000 driver will install. Your A6 should now be installed and show up in your list of printers.

My A6 now prints from any program or the internet using Windows Vista.
