Remove lower rear cover of washer, locate and remove large black hose to bottom of tub.
Remove and clean plastic filter located in the hose, check pump for blockage, refit filter and hose , and test for leaks.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

Fault finding

Hotpoint wd860p washer/drier had fault code F08 come up on the display so took all the usual steps
1. Checked filter
2. Took top off machine checked all contacts
3. Circuit tested usual items
put onto cycle onto rinse and spin after rinse came up with fault code F08 again. Checked internet sites for solutions nothing matched the problem. So started again checking all usual items nothing seemed wrong whilst spending time looking over the machine I noticed the back edge of the weight block was damp? Unplugged the unit and I looked along the grey plastic condense hose which runs from water inlet supply to the heater unit for the drier and it had been rubbing on the drum causing 2 very small holes in the pipe!!!! So to test I pinched around the pipe sealing the holes with some blue tack and fixed in place with some insulation tape. Put it back on a cycle and all seems ok I can order a new pipe whilst the wife still uses the machine. It would appear most error codes are not specific to a particular problem... Typical of a money making scam for the service dept of the manufacturers ...!!!! Watch out ... Hope this is of some use...

Hi, have a problem with my hotpoint wfm940 washing machine. It had an error f5 which relates to the drum not draining, found rubber bands in the pump. Machine isn't running any cycles now, it will spin,...

Try removing the plug or switching off the washing machine and leave it for about ten minutes. Hopefully this will reset the electronics and allow normal operation again..

Hotpoint ultima Wt920 problem F5

Do the following.

  1. Switch off the machine, unplug or disconnect the mains power to the machine and turn off the water supply to the machine.
  2. Remove the filter and make sure that the filter is not blocked and is clean and clear of all debris. Clean as required. Note that if the machine has stopped and not fully drained then you may be able to drain out the excess water by removing or disconnecting the waste hose and laying it on the ground in a tray. It may take a few minutes to empty but it will save a small flood. Alternatively bale out the sump under the main screen filter plate.
  3. Proceed by checking the drain hose for proper connection and kinks and make sure that it is not blocked or restricted.
  4. Also check that the main waste drain pipe and one way valve to a sink waste connection if you use one, is not blocked and clean if required.
  5. Access the pump from under the lower rotor arm and protective grille and check that the impeller is free to move and is not clogged or restricted by debris or sludge. Clean as required.
  6. Reconnect the power and switch the machine on.
If the problem persists then do the following.
7. Switch off the machine and disconnect the mains power. It is a good idea to take digital pictures of the pump assembly before attempting to work on it or remove it so that you can refer back to it when you reassemble the unit or replace it with a new unit at a later date / time.
8. Remove and check the electrical connections to the pump and make sure they are in good order.
9. Remove the connecting hoses, and expect water to drain out and make sure the pipes are not blocked with debris or any object blockage. If they are then clean them thoroughly.
10. Then remove the pump and check motor is OK and that the motor turns OK. Also check that the pump impeller vanes are in good order and not blocked. If necessary replace the pump with a new and identical unit.
11. Carefully reassemble the pump observing the correct placement of gaskets, seals, O Rings, hoses and securing straps, electrical wiring.
12. Reconnect the hoses and then reconnect power and switch the machine on.

Says F5 on display, wont empty.

just had F5 blockage warning on hotpoint aqualtis. Removed front panel on the bottom and unscrewed filter, cleaned and replaced. checked all outlet pipe was clear. Laid washing machine on to its back and removed black pipe from pump and checked and finally removed the other end of the pipe that joins to the drum. large ball acts a valve and a missing sock was found in the drum end! replaced all parts and washing machine works a treat! before the f5 warning the machine leaked from the door on a couple of occasions, no problem since and may have been a build up of water finding its only way out.

Leaves in water

Check pipes are not blocked, to do this while you have water in machine, remove outlet pipe from drain, and place into a bowl so it is below the tub.If water does not come out then pipe is blocked. Whichever you need to do the following.
1 unplug machine, and remove the rear panel at the bottom, using a screwdriver.
2 If no water came out from pipe then directly below tub is a black pipe, this will need to be removed using fitting either grips or a screwdriver, depending on what fitting retains pipe to the tub.As you remove the pipe be carefull not to loose the ball inside pipe. This is like a ping pong ball. You can now check pipe.
If you did get waterr out from pipe at stage 1 then remove other end of this pipe, from the pump only. Then tilt machine and view under pump to see what holds it in place. Normally 2 scews. Remove these and lift pump away, be carefull of the 2 wires that go to pump. You can now check pump is clear. If it is then chances are you need a new pump. This will cost around £10.00 but you will need to use the front part from old pump. When refitting ensure pipes are fitted correct and you have no leaks. This is fairly easy to do yourself, just take time and look where screws are fitted to pump casing. I am sure you will do this no problem, so good luck. PS. most shops will charge around £45. if pump is blocked and anything from £45-£60 to fit a pump.so it is worth doing it yourself. Also you dont need a genuine hotpoint pump, just ask for an Askol pump.

Hotpoint WD860P F5 error

F05 - Pressure switch jammed on full.
The pressure switch needs testing and possibly replacing unless this is a drain problem. Most likely something caught in the pump which is accessed by removing the small panel at the rear/bottom of the machine. The pump slots in place and can be removed by lifting and shifting to the left. Unscrew the pump off or remove the pipes will reveal all.You can sometimes test them by blowing into the part where the pressure tube goes, but only blow gently. You should hear it click when you blow into it.
Good luck with the machine. And for further doubts please do post comments.

Error code f5

I think you mean error F05 for a Hotpoint washer.
it means the pressure switch is jammed on full, check pump is working o/k and if there is a filter, remove and clean it, see user instructions..
If still no joy, then you will have to call an engineer..
Plz rate this solution.
Thanks.

Aqualtis AQGD 169 S F12 problem Please help :-(

ok, I have just had the 'blocked pump message and after much playing around I have solved it.

Pull the machine out and take the drain out and place in a bucket. Then tilt the machine on its side about 30 to 45 degrees so you can get a hand underneath. At the front there is a black rubber pipe-squeeze this a few times and then run the machine on a pump cycle. Put water in machine (i used a bucket) and repeat. You should get the foul smelling gunk out of the pump. I did this about 4 times and finally the water comes out clean and you should be ok.

Regards and good luck,

Matt

the pump is blocked... at the bottom back there is a plastic cover, remove this and the pump is located on the back right hand side.

tilt washer far forward, place a bucket under to catch water and remove pipes.

once cleared, test again, if still no joy then you just need a new pump, but this part is a work horse so i would assume it is blocked with something like a baby wipe or babies sock (usual suspects)
