I am guessing you are trying to fit a movie onto a blank DVD? You need to compress the video to fit into the 4.7gb available on the disc .... or use dual layer dvds.

A good program for compression is Elby's CloneDVD2.

My new dv6 2001au laptop does not write either DVDs or CDs, and ejects all disks.

dvd's and cd's are ejected while writing only if the media is read-only or data to be written is greater than the size of cd/dvd media capacity, if this is not the case than probably its the drive proble, if the laptop is under warranty better take it to the service station

My dvdr/rw wont burn dvds properly

There are many reason for this.Try following steps to look out for solution.

1>Use better quality Dvd to burn .DVDs are just a few cents worth of plastic, manufactured in massive quantities. Sometimes you end up with a bad disk or a bad batch. Try a new disk, or a whole new brand, and you may have more luck burning your DVDs

2>Dust in your DVD burner can prevent it from burning DVDs correctly. Buy a lens cleaning disk and use it in your DVD burner drive. This can clean things up and give you a clean, successful burn.

3>For better quality burn at slow speed. It’s always tempting to burn DVDs at the highest speed possible. In theory, you’ll save time and can get more DVDs burned. In practice, though, higher speeds can result in unreliable burns.
Slow things down and set your DVDs to burn at 4x or even 2x. This may eliminate errors.
I hope this will solve your problem.

Cannot copy dvds or cds with my duplicator

Hey! Usually, DVDs have some protections which prevent DVD users copying DVDs freely. Theser protections include CSS protection, region code protection etc. Therefore, you need to remove DVD protections first if you want to copy DVDs. There are some DVD Copy software which can do this. I have a good luck with this DVD Copy which works fine. You can have a try if you like.
Hope that helps.

Can't burn pass over 78 min on my burner

CDs can only store 800 Mb, which is exactly 78 minutes. If you need to burn more data than that onto a disk then you will need to burn DVDs with a DVD burner.
Please rate, Thanks!

Samsung cdrrw/dvd sm-332b

Hi,
I,m not sure whether this is a desktop or laptop your refering To ??
most desktop-tower cases, will house any drive usually 5.5"
These are common purchase, the only difference being Single Or Dual Layer. depending on what you want the drive to Do. i.e read and write CDs Or And Dvds ?
If it is a desktop PC. then the connectors will be the same for all models. A 40 or 80 strand IDE Ribbon Cable. And 4 pin Molex Power Connector.
As for the Quality, i,d suggest Pioneer 112. reads and writes more formats than most DVDs.
Hope this helps you out.
