System sound is not working

Do you have the driver installed? Right-click Computer, then left-click Properties\Device Manager, and check for anything labeled in yellow or red in the area of Sound. If you see yellow, then you need a driver. If you see a red "X" thru it then you need to activate it by right-clicking it and choosing Enable. To find the driver go to Hewlett Packard, choose Support & Downloads\Download Driver, and enter you model information. It will open a page with your computers drivers listed. Find the most recent one and install it, then reboot. If your sound works, but you simply don't have an icon in your system tray, then go to Control Panel\Hardware & Sound, and then find the check box for placing the sound icon in the tray. The different versions of Windows will vary alittle bit in accessing your sound manager to make changes. madhattercomputers

You have to install the driver of your sound card. If it is no with you , you can download it from the net by giving the model of your sound card.

I hope this will solve your issue.

Good Luck.

If my solution proves useful please accept it.

My mpc hard drive freezes

Sounds like the hard drive either has bad sectors or has corrupted data and it needs to be formatted.
If checking for errors or formatting doesn't help, you may need to replace the drive. Depending on the hard drive that is installed, it may be getting to the end of useable life cycle or has damaged sectors and causes the MPC to lock up. It may also be that the controller board on the drive is failing.

Check the drive either with the built in utility or connect it to a computer and use a non destructive test utility like HDD Regenerator that runs from a bootable CD on a PC.

Cheers and good luck.
